As for the suit its not really that hard to have a full body armor suit, a college kid made a full batman suit that could withstand knives. It's not about who's best. It's about who's good enough at the time. Neither batman not punisher fought fair. Neither would our hypothetical real world super hero.

Think about it. What can ruin the day of the most elite and well trained SF? Idiot goat herders in sufficient numbers. What can fuck up super high tech fighters? Proper planning (e.g. Serbia shooting down a nighthawk). Being the best doesn't guarantee a win.
