/og/ Optics General

Is an ACOG really worth it for $1000+? Or does /k/ prefer a red dot (that's obviously not EOTech)?
>>
acogs are worth every penny

4x32 is the masterrace of optics
>>
red dots are for queers operating on static steel targets at the 25 yard line. acogs are for shooting people.
>>
fuck acogs and their shitty ass eye relief

You have to be literally three quarters of an inch away from the eyepiece to see shit without getting scope shadow

the only people who like them are faggy bench shooters

You're fucking high if you actually believe that, it's literally the opposite you fucking nogunz retard
>>
>have a friend who was deployed multiple times as 11b
>he always deployed with an acog and loved it
>did have a small amount of time in training with an aimpoint
>hes out now
>bought an aimpoint because its cheaper
>sold the aimpoint within two times out shooting because it sucked compared to the acog

Thats my only experience

Good one

Heh.

They're completely different optics. An Aimpoint doesn't suck compared to an ACOG in the same way that a pickup truck doesn't suck to an airplane.

Nigger the ACOG is infamous for having a dogshit eye relief. This is not up for debate.
>>
>>28374885
that's your opinion

nigger

It does, but it's totally useable.

Personally, I'd rather have a 1-4x or 1-6x variable power optic over an ACOG, but if I ever saw a great deal on a used TA11 I'd be all over it without hesitation.
