Medieval historyfag here: That's not true. It's a mixture of saltpeter, charcoal, lime, rosin, and a couple other ingredients mixed in very specific proportion. The Byzantines used a jellied version of this they pumped through bigass flamethrowers they mounted on their ships. THAT particular recipe was a state secret, and it is lost to us. But 'Greek fire'? As in that incendiary shit that sticks and burns and water just pisses it off? Was well known all over Europe and the Middle East.

Post the original Greek fire recipe, you Jew!!
Why bother learning Greek Fire? Styrofoam, gasoline, and some oil and you have perfectly serviceable napalm.
>>28370695
Styrofoam and gasoline makes a good resin and glue.
Good enough for boat repair, I've heard. The story is, in the Amazon, if a boat gets a hole and needs a quick fix they pick up river litter and make magic.
Not good enough for open ocean, but good enough for rivers and lakes.

Read the book at the link I posted -- it's got the entire text of the 10th century Liber Ignium in it.
That means Book of FIIIIIIRRRRE if your Latin's a little rusty.

To quote the wiki,
>Some recipes were found to be worthless.
And the rest have NOTHING to do with Greek fire.
