There was one time a Japanese Airsoft IPSC competitor, not sure if he was high ranked or not, but he went to the US and took part in a real IPSC match and nearly came first or did. I can't remember the full details. Some of the Airsoft guys are pretty pro, but they generally holiday in Guam or somewhere and get to play with real guns once a year or so.
