It would be inaccurate as hell and unsafe with factory .30-30. The Ackley version blows the shoulder out to 40 degrees and shortens the neck. Youll rupture cases most likely.

It tears up the rifle because the case will rupture at the shoulder since its unsupported. You also risk case head separation, which pretty well takes the rifle out of commission for a while.

It wont kb the gun though (unless you manage to cram a second round in the chamber after a head sep).
