Interesting why people don't seem to like the modernization of police uniforms.
Sure there's that whole borderline cringey 'tactical' phase that's been a thing for a while, but this is different.
Police has shadowed military since basically forever, it's only natural that they start adapting modern military uniforms and "tactical shit" like knee pads, elbow pads, camo etc.
I don't think it's a case of being wannabes, I mean sure they don't go to war, but police get involved in a lot of "combat" situations where the military would be equipped with the same kind of gear anyway, so why not use it?

I respect special police units but they are nothing compared to the guys from CT units who parachute in, observe the target for several days and strike the target in a hostile area where failure of the mission probably means the end of your life as you know it.
Police units do the same shit hitting the target and use the same gear but the simulaties end there. There is more to being an operator than looking cool although it is the first rule in SF ;)
