has anyone had the CMP install a barrel for them before?
i did the bullet test on my garand a month ago and to my dismay it wobbles around.
this explains why i cant hit shit with it. i thought my sights were off. i ordered a new barrel from cmp but my local gunsmith wants $300 to install it. CMP wants $100. ($75 if i dont want precision bolt lapping.)

Do it. One of the reasons for the CMP was to subsidize target shooting. You will be getting quality work from people who know garands for below market rates courtesy of the U.S. Government.
