I prefer retweeting their art on Twitter and I've been using Tumblr for the past five years.

We (Americans) forced it on them during post-WWII construction, and the Japs haven't changed it since. From what I've seen, they're so used to it, that many prefer it to be pixelated. The law is only used to ensure a monopoly for established publishers, and crack down on artists who oppose the LDP as "degenerate" even if they're doing the same things major companies do.
