Hey all, I am writing a short story series in 'episodes' akin to an anime which has been heavily inspired by /jp/ and I would like to do a bit more research. Can anyone recommend any light novels that cover not only Otaku culture but involve say Kaiju or just anime/manga elements? Preferably in a semi action/comedy style, maybe a dash of romantic shiz for good measure.
Please give suggestions (and links if they are online) and if others have read it tell us what you thought, thanks!

What kind of dork writes something about otaku culture but doesn't know anything about otaku culture.

As I said a big part of it's INSPIRATION has been this board, I don't want to go into detail on the story but I will post a link to it here when I'm done and I'm sure I'll get roasted for it but that isn't why I'm here.
Just looking for novels that could help me write them in a better more readable fashion, frankly I usually write short horror and speculative fiction and I have been published in some indie anthologies, spreading my tiny wings okay.
