Permadeath sister is go. I already filled all equipment slots, had multiple close calls (almost killed by a <<pawn>>, grizzly bear, gunner...), traded with adventurers for some gear with minor resists, and made 30k. I will probably end up doing something dumb and dying, then go back to my normal mode character in shame

Since my last codepad about what luck affects seems to have been helpful, I made a new one about the critical hit damage multiplier question:
http://codepad.org/7H9Mwjzq

I hope that sheds some light on the matter for those interested in it.

It is BloodyShade here btw, in case it wasn't obvious :)

Huh. So equipment heavier than "light" causes a reduction in crit damage?
Interesting.
>>
>>17308793
How do you figure?
>>
>>17308952
If equipment weight > 15s, then the equation that determines the crit multiplier reduces "atkomosa" (the raw crit amplification variable) by the total weight of your worn equipment.
>>
>>17308331

From what I see with the equation it's saying that the damage multiplier goes up as the weapon gets heavier. However, past a weapon weighing 15s you'll see an increase in the damage multiplier but it begins to suffer diminishing returns as it nears some sort of cap.

>>
>>17309054
>the damage multiplier goes up as the weapon gets heavier.
This is correct, and takes place in this line:
>atkomosa = inv(7, cw) * 2
atkomosa is twice your weapon's weight.

>However, past a weapon weighing 15s
You're reading it wrong. That's not weapon weight here:
>if ( cdata(64, tc) >= 15000 ) {
That's equipment weight (checking to see if it's over 15s). And in the next line:
>dmgmulti = dmgmulti * (sqrt(limit(atkomosa - cdata(64, tc), 1, 360000)) / 3 + 100) / 100
It's _subtracting_ equipment weight from the 2*weapon weight bonus. There's diminishing returns even without the penalty due to sqrt, but that's unrelated to the penalty itself.

Ah, I was thinking about actual definitive answers on skills that don't have technical pages.
Like how much magic device or alchemy multiplies damage/hex effects/lengths.

I just didn't say that since I know I have no idea how many places in the code something as general as that could be lurking.
I just like hearing about any of the hard math of mechanics so I appreciate what BloodyShade and the technical page contributes on the wiki have done.
>>
>>17308331
eqweight there is a sum of equipment in all slots including weapon, right? It seems that this eqweight substraction was made to prevent using both ranged and melee weapons with boosted mass.
>>
>>17309123
The way it targets all equipment weight greater than Light and jumps from no penalty to total weight makes me think it's supposed to make crits more powerful for lightly armored characters (like a rogue-style character), who would ordinarily be screwed over by their reliance on light weapons.
>>
>>17308331
>>17308793
Also in case anyone was wondering this means that your weapon needs to weigh 360s + [the weight of the rest of your worn gear] in order to maximize crit damage. So hey, maybe those incredibly heavy Inner God weapons aren't so unnecessarily cumbersome after all.

Martial Arts also hits max crit damage at 900 skill in light armor.
>>
>>17309181
In layman:
2k MA allows max crit damage with 440s eq weight
For weapons you need to get 1s weapon weight for each stone of equipment weight from the rest of the equipment in addition to base 360s weapon weight
You can have max MA and ranged crit damage at high MA skill levels.
>>
>>17309213
>and ranged crit damage
Nope, that checks ammo weight.
>>
>>17309221
I mean you can have 360s+eqweight ammo and still get maxed MA crit at around 1800MA skill
>>
>>17308331
How is dmgmulti initially determined?
It's first occurrence there is in a x = x * y line, so it has to be set elsewhere to begin with.

>heavier ammo is better

>>
>>17308331
Eh, that's hard to understand. Can't you add a simple explanation like in the luck one? Maybe with what people replied to your post?
>>
>>17309482
Maybe its easier to understand like that?
Formula
(sqrt(weapon weight*2000 - equipment weight*1000)/3 + 100)/100
maximum bonus is 3x

Equipment weight is ignored if its below 15s. Means with light armour and 4s weapon you'll get approximately 130% damage on crit.
If weapon uses ammo, ammo weight is used instead. MA uses MA skill level*400 instead of weapon weight*2000.

I'm on a new character (Lv5, permadeath). Somebody drank from the well in Palmia and a fucking dragon came out. I used a rod of teleport before he could mince me in one turn, and now I'm hiding in the palace. One of my pets is gaining AP at a rate much faster than any other, and now she's sitting at 1800 ap when everybody else is barely at 200. She's already the fastest pet and also the second strongest overall. What are some other good uses for AP besides speed? Is Chara Quality Up worth it? It sounds too good to not have a downside.

And can I use abilities taught to pets with AP with custom AIs?
>>
>>17314381
You should strengthen the others so they can keep up with her. If needed park her at home for a while and go train the rest, then use AP to get everyone at the same speed. Yes to the latter two questions.

Alright I've reached floor 2005 of the void. I'm fairly convinced that my character and Saya have reached the maximum amount of AP they can get. Both me and her haven't gained any more AP for 1000 floors now in the void. Since enemies already are capped in their attributes and the only thing increasing is their HP and level there is nothing increasing the enemy INI sum which is used to determine if you gain AP at all. The wiki says the cap is around 80k but both my character and pet are indicating it's probably around 90k. At least for INI scores like ours. Since there is an effective cap to AP the lowering of INI is mainly to cap AP sooner. Greater thought should be put in what you spend AP on but luckily a couple of stuff I recall are refundable but not all.

I tried eating pretty much anything I find but not even raw butter is giving me weight gains. And on the topic of food, is the best way to get rare herbs for herbed food through music tickets? Blessed food will occasionally make you gain weight. Doesn't do anything to height. Haven't tried it myself but livestock feed I hear increases weight. Might want to check that out. Herbs through music tickets certainly is a nice way to supplement what you have. I personally did fine with getting rare herbs from just my farms but you need a bunch of them.

Anyone know what the limits on milking are? I know each time you milk anything you're told it was "weakened". Never paid attention to it before, but suddenly I got an "If you squeeze more milk, the putit will die." warning message.
(More putits will show up soon to replace the dead ones, of course, so I'm mostly asking out of curiosity.) Do ranch animals gradually lose that "weakness" over time, or is it a status condition that can be cured (I tried throwing restore body and restore spirit potions; didn't remove the "weakness"), or is there just a hard cap on the number of times you can milk any one ranch animal, or what?

Self MP > 10%: And

Magic takes a few things:
1. Casting skill required. More skill = better cast rates.
2. Spell practice. The more levels a skill has, the easier to cast*
3. No shields, no dual wielding, less than 15s of worn equipment. Breaking any of these rules imposes a cast penalty.

*Wish is weird and different but don't worry about it now.

Inferno/Loss mode's difficulty is heavily front loaded. The most difficult time is the very beginning of the game but as your character gets stronger the difficulty lessens and eventually just plateaus because you have more agency in what kind of trouble you get in. In other words, If you can survive the beginning of the game it's pretty much smooth sailing unless you choose to look for trouble.

At the very beginning of the game I prioritized safety and success rate above all else. That meant I did only the easiest of job board quests and did dungeons far below my character level. To make gold early on I was doing only short distance escort quests. Like Vernis toYowyn, Vernis to Derphy, Palmia to Luminest, etc. Delivery quests such as where you bring a book to someone regardless of distance was perhaps the easiest job board quests to do. I only did low level green hunting quests and future god slayer Kai spent most of his time hiding behind the little girl as she tanked everything because you really are weak at the beginning of the game. Would have the little girl get the monsters attention and once the log showed me the monster was wailing on her I'd swoop in and start attacking the monster myself. Gold was used to get gear and platinum new skills.

Eventually I moved onto other job board quests like harvest, parties, and did more difficult job board quests. I also started doing very low level dungeons for small medals and ancient spellbooks to join the mage guild. In all instances I had no shame in purposely failing quests or running away if I saw something I didn't like. If I ended up in way over my head in a hunting quest I'd run off the map and fail the request. In dungeons if I saw the boss was a creature I didn't like I'd just head back up the stairs and fail at clearing the boss of the dungeon. Survive another day was pretty much my creed so no shame in running away and failing. To that end, return scrolls, escape scrolls, and rod of change creature were all great emergency tools.

You would think that if I kept playing it safe I'd have a hard time leveling but that simply wasn't true. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to level through just trying to raise skills and or spell levels. Just trying to raise crafting skills and spell buffs were giving me lots of levels at the beginning of the game. After buying or finding good gear all my gold was going to investing in magic vendors and I was using platinum to make sure any skill I was actively working on raising was at max potential.

So that's some of the stuff I did at the beginning. A little bit of luck and playing it extra safe should keep you alive during the most trying times of your character development and if you can survive that you'll be able to survive almost indefinitely.
>>
>>17317261
Milking permanently reduces life stat. Raising it back will be too expensive to even bother. Just slay the "cannot milk anymore" ones.
>>
>>17317568
Thanks for the post. At the start I actually mainly did harvest time quests, and now I always remember to drop by Yowyn. They're so incredibly easy when you've got gardening, and give a nice chunk of exp. Now that I've got a farm I've been using all my seeds at once and skill gain skyrocketed on the first harvest. At level 13 my gardening is already 40. I'm actually scared it will get too high and generate powerful monsters on the farm, so I'm cutting back. I found the more skills I get the faster I gain exp. Right now I'm already at the stage where I can do Lv10 or below dungeons easily, so it's time to start gathering materials and level my crafting skills. I think one of the biggest dangers for me right now would be to e.g. run into a bomb rock or kamikaze yeek room. I'm not sure whether you can reduce the explosion damage.

>>
>>17317572

>>
>>17317626
I treated dungeons as places to gather resources. Since quality of gear found on floors for selling, small medals on the boss, resource nodes, and platinum on the boss didn't care about dungeon level I wasn't in any real hurry to level up dungeons. If you keep your dungeon levels low you might not even run into the suicide guys because I think they only spawn once a dungeon is at a certain danger level. Can probably raise the dungeon danger levels slowly as you get stronger and are more confident in surviving the suicide enemies. Other tips I can give in dealing with them is the use of the teleport spell and from what I heard wet suicide enemies don't blow up. So an alchemy rain of potions to make enemies wet or bubble storm can help in such a situation if what I heard was true.
>>
>>17317649

>>17317430
No idea if it has been fixed yet, perhaps it only happens if you're playing in English, but you may be running into a problem where a magic vendor you have currently shares the same name with a magic vendor you're trying to hire. Thus it won't show up on the list for hire. Thus to fix it you need to rename the magic vendor(s) you currently have and you should like in one in game day or a few in game days have another magic vendor show up in the list to be hired.

If you're not experiencing that bug then I guess all you can do is be patient for one to show up in the list to hire.

All you can really do then is just keep checking the board. The list refreshes every day. Since I already have 8 magic vendors in my palace I decided to create a throw away character to test if anything changed in 1.69. Nothing seems to have changed from what I can see in hiring people. Managed to get a magic vendor show up for the test character after a couple of days passed.

Your chances here are significantly better compared to one random event per longass day out of a huge list of events. And when you get one of the vendor you want, you can duplicate the same vendor by hiring one, changing their name, then hiring them again.

No uglos allowed in my party. My possy can only have qt 3.14s.

Honest answer. I was thinking of adding the murder knight to the party since he looks so fucking cool but that shitty life value, plus the high INI scores made me reconsider. I might get one of those perfomaids that I've seen show up in later dungeons but they probably will have the same INI issue. I seem to remember someone did a trick to lower his pet's INI with rotten food but I don't know how exactly did he do it. I imagine just feeding it shouldn't be enough since INI is determined at chargen.

>>17320842
Earlygame is risky no matter what kind of character you got. And even for high powered characters, there's always an element of risk. You can die just carelessly misreading a book twice, or from to a monster summoned out of nowhere (wells, adventurer with cursed gear) or from a cluster bomb rock teleporting you in to introduce you to his family (that'd kill even my character who otherwise completes level 150 dungeons with ease). And I fear for the inferno player who meets a grass dancer or group of cockatrices for the first time. In Elona there aren't any mindflayers sucking out your brain to inflict stat death or wands of death that instant kill, but there is still plenty of scary shit. Just consider that up until you reach quite a high level, if Bethel ever decides to get drunk and hit someone with the Ragnarok in Vernis, you can kiss your character goodbye.
>>
>>17320842
Minimizing risk is how you succeed though.

>>17321111
Elona seems to have really front loaded difficulty. Once you start getting speed in south tyris everything kind of just dies at you. I play with no pets outside of breakfest, pretty much do nothing but jump into dungeons twice my level and I haven't even needed to think about what I'm doing in what feels like forever. I can't imagine how easy it is for the people using the absurdly fast scaling pets to fight for them.
And even if you do get into trouble, the game constantly spams rods of tele at you. Thousands of them. You get quests to hand them in that reward them for succeeding.
>>
>>17321139
You can also make yourself a few dozen of them in a single turn.

I designated one of my pets as a martial artist and she's just pulverizing everything with Attribute.
>>
>>17321060
Yep, and enemies with jiu-jitsu is super scary. But vorpal is just as scary if you focus on pv.
Key point is that DV was nearly completely useless before, and now i'm not sure about that.
>>17321099
I've had my pets beat chaos fort bosses before i could even see them. Dunno about the void since i never dived too deep, but most of my pets(aside from obligatory little girl maybe) could get thru 400-500 pet arena rounds 1v9, and i rarely could put to use all those timestop/crit living adamantium lightsabres.
>>17321106
Invokes are nice. As for raw damage, I bet maxed out MA is the best now, but i'll never level it high enough on PC char to compare.
>>
My fairy gains around 900% evasion from his DV bonus. I don't know how helpful this is because my pets kill everything before I can get attacked.
>>
>>17321185

>>
>>17321345
I mean yeah, but you're talking about the guy who has put multiple thousands of hours in.
>>
>>17321345
His PC is focused on ranged,i think? DW is too weak with only 2 weapons due to lack of crit damage bonus from weight.
But its hard to compare since MA doesnt have invokes. Single timestop proc practically doubles total damage.
>>
>>17321385
Kai did do a comparison. DW would match MA if you manage to proc time stop on every one of your eight attacks.
>>
>>17321478
err maybe i'm stupid but dont you get another 8 attacks after single timestop 1-turn proc?

It adds free turn(s) where only attacking character could move, not attack, and each turn nets you another 8 attacks or spells/actions.
Not sure if you can refresh time stop turn if you proc it during time-stop'ed turn.
>>
>>17321578
You'd have to ask him yourself, I'm no expert on time stop.
I just recall that being the gist of his tests.
>>
>>17321591
Well that sounds wrong to me, i remember testing it with diablo and it basically gave me 3 or 4 free turns to attack target during proc.Imagine me and enemy both got 2k speed, with 4t timestop i had equivalent of 10k speed(total 5 my turns vs 1 enemy turn). with this.
Well its been 2 years since i've played with it, maybe i forgot something.
>>
>>17321627
Yes, but MA also gets up to 8 attacks per turn in addition to an absolutely mind-boggling amount of damage. Plus elemental damage of the attribute of choice.
It's a huge wall of damage.
>>
>>17321696
In the end it depends whether you can or cant refresh timestop counter during time-stopped turn.
You need to consider the fact that you have to leave your hands empty for MA and stack multi-hit bonuses on equipment to get reliable max # of hits.
I wonder how well proximity assist weapon will do with DW at higher skill/bonus levels.
>>
>>17321794
You need multi hit bonuses for 8 hits with DW, so that's a moot point. Proximity works with MA as well.

Just going to throw this up as people have been discussing damage styles. This is for a non mutant and all damage was against a sandbagged mithril golem with cap armor skills. Picture 1 is of my martial arts damage. Had clear mind and attribute running which are special actions that only martial arts can make the most of. 2,639,624 damage but could have been 3 million if I had all my hits crit.

Picture 2 is of me two handing a living spear weighing 420s. Only thing of note on it is magic damage[1800]. 715,000 damage in total. Still room to grow in damage as I haven't capped the two hand skill. I haven't capped polearm yet ether but I don't see the skill contributing much more to my damage multiplier. I think 2 million damage is reasonable to expect once stuff is capped.

Picture 3 shows dual wielding. I dual wielded two living spears that both had magic damage at 1800. Total damage was 439,300. Don't really expect my damage with dual wielding to grow much. Already have tactics capped and I don't think I'm going to get much more damage multiplier from my polearm skill. Dual wield skill contributes nothing to the damage multiplier.

So for damage it looks like MA is best followed by two hand and last is dual wield. At least for a non mutant.

Now things get interesting if you factor in timestop. The magnitude of the timestop enchant on a weapon determines how many extra actions you get in a turn. The higher the magnitude the more actions you get. It's very hard to find timestop on weapons and harder still to find one at a decent magnitude though. At a decent magnitude 5 extra actions can be expected.

Assuming my spear for two hand also had timestop on it and I got 5 extra actions. That 2 million damage under the best circumstances where all 5 extra actions lead to 4 attacks would turn into 12 million damage(5 timestop actions * 2 million damage + the initial 2 mill). It's really hard to hit 4 times each action though but nevertheless it's possible for two hand to hit harder than MA if timestop procs and you luck out with your attacks. If I applied timestop to dual wielding I'd get around 2,635,800 damage. So dual wielding approaches MA's damage in this instance with a non mutant character.

MA can probably do more consistent damage due to not having to rely on procs and needing to get consistent 8/4 attacks but two hand and dual wield can spike their damage every now and then with time stop. This is assuming dual wield and two hand combine timestop with some sort of magic damage or element damage of high magnitude on their weapons. Must have both or they fall short of what MA puts out. Pictures show that a great deal of their damage comes from that extra magic damage.
>>
>>17324418
Picture 4 is just of me playing around with damage inflation. Know how if you make enemies wet and then cast a cold spell you do more damage? Well I changed the element of my fists to ice, casted element scar and bubble storm, then started punching the mithril golem. Almost 5 million damage in one turn or a 2 million damage increase in the damage I was doing with just having my fists set to magic damage. Can probably put ice damage on weapons to achieve the same damage boost although magic damage is still all purpose less hassle. I'm just glad with MA that it's easy to change my elements on the fly with element eyes.
>>
>>17324424
Have you tried megid flame in lower void levels, per chance? I wonder how much worse it is than element scar.

I use custom ai on my mage pets to apply wet status on enemies first, i wonder if electric(maybe with a chance to paralyze enemies, but not sure if its possible for stat-capped targets) first would be good.
>>
>>17324418
All and all MA is the best for pets since you can train it in pet arena while applying maximum speed debuffs for your PC to save time.
Gotta say that for PC timestop proc is excellent for fast training as well, too bad you dont train eye of mind while it lasts(no crits).

...somehow that 10-hand DW log made me want to make a little sister pet and add her 11 limbs with gevala service, then add some limbs via gene engineering and level her....such a monstrocity that will be, i imagine. And maybe make her ride my PC, since you cant make pets ride other pets, unfortunately.
>>
>>17324430
Unfortunately I don't have any pets with megid flame. I'd be interested in seeing how it functions on scaled enemies as well though. Guess I'll leave that for someone else to find out.
>>

You could turn her into a shoulder-mounted turret by adding only hands and putting only claws in the hand slot.
Maybe add a custom talk file with "pewpewpew" for onkill.

But it wont flood your log with a hundred attacks per turn. Sweet idea though.

Direct paste from a changelog since the special action page is missing it despite things linking to it directly.

Hyper Dash -
Learned during level up if Riding skill is 80 or above.
Nothing happens if used while not riding/being ridden.
Effect is applied to the player if used by the steed the player is riding, or if used by the pet riding the player.
If used by the player when the player is not riding, the below mentioned effects do not occur.
The character controlling movement (or the tag partner of an NPC) will be able to displace enemies from their tile with this buff.
When the player is under the effect of this buff, a melee attack will not occur when moving in the direction of an enemy and the enemy will get displaced.
Shadow Step and Distance Attack can still be used. Select the appropriate option from the 'i'nteract menu to use melee attacks.
Be aware that NPCs will not attempt to push away an enemy standing between them and their target.
Inflicts 1 turn of Wince. Damage is reduced by the average of the target's PV + DV + Dexterity.
The character controlling movement will gain Riding skill experience. (Also given to the player's steed/rider, and to tag partners of NPCs.)
This is basically a hit-and-run attack.
Divine cattle and unicorn NPCs from evolution will now have this special action.

And from a later changelog:
NPCs are now able to destroy walls and doors when buffed with Hyper Dash.

>Assuming my spear for two hand also had timestop on it and I got 5 extra actions. That 2 million damage under the best circumstances where all 5 extra actions lead to 4 attacks

Timestopped turns work differently. You get 100% hitrate always, but weapons cannot crit. Vorpal\PAW attacks still work, though. Well you can get weapon with higher weight only in main hand so crit multiplier is too low for DW anyway.

There is another downside of timestop - procrate is 5% or less, so you need many hits to apply it reliably. 8 hits for non-mutant may be not enough to contend with TH under best circumstances.
>>
how does time stop ammo work with multihit? if you fire time stop ammo and get extra ranged attacks does it stack more time stops or what?
>>
>>17325807
Question is: do you use more ammo during multi-hit?

Timestop's general rule: only one timestop can be active. You cannot proc next TS while time is stopped.

So multi-hit with TS ammo shouldnt do anything, i guess.

Stop using meteor.
>>
>>17326230
It is in fact a simple "mistake", at some point Anna probably identified item id 1005 as being bottles, and put the type as bottle in the item information.

Unfortunately the code starts the string with that information, so instead of it being empty it was now set to "bottle", and the very next line checks if the item id is 1005 and adds "bottle" to the string, causing the "bottlebottle" string to be set.

For now I removed the bottle string from the item information, but I'll have to wait for Anna to confirm if there was anything else to it that made her add that.

Just ran a test by equipping the Rankis on Kai and you're absolutely correct. Wonder if my memory is playing tricks on me as I could have sworn there was a time where it did. Well at any rate you're right that you can't seem to crit attacks during timestop actions.

Since you can't crit during timestop my damage predictions with timestop are off and need to be significantly reduced. My conclusions though are still correct it seems. Martial arts still does the most damage and is more consistent out of the three. I think two hand is capable of hitting for 2 million without timestop. With a 5 action timestop damage can get up to 6 million now that I know you can't crit within timestop. So two hand still can out damage MA if you luck out in attacks but the lead it gives isn't as significant as I thought prior. Since MA can do 3 to 4 million in one turn it can probably still come on top due to the proc rate of timestop. Still two hand is still in a good place damage wise.

My only concern now is with dual wield. Since you can't crit within timestop it's damage isn't really anywhere close to MA or two hand on a non mutant. For dual wield to shine I'm going to guess you need to be a mutant. Specifically something like a Hekatonkheires
>>
>>17327256
There is no need to decrease speed (or other stats) for ALP recruitment. Only things that matter are level, relationship, and amount of "magic ink" material.

By the way cursed "restore body" potion decreases speed as well.
>>
>>17327372
But since those stat decreases are non-permanent I'm not sure that copy will inherit the lowered stats. So probably no easy low-INI Karata.

Well you could always add a couple of hands for 10% speed penalty, and no penalty at all if you are riding.
As for DW + timestop, you need to consider 2 things:
1. DW weapons are very light, thus crit multiplier is kept around 1-1,5x instead of 3x on MA/TH
2. Hit penalty for multi-handed atrocities is enormous. Timestop directly counters this with it's 100% hitrate.

Its rather easy to make 6-10 handed dragon/bell/cockroach/any other race with minimal starting bodyparts, mutants are not the only ones who could truly profit from DW.

Another thing for multi-handed DW is that stamina drain and well-scaling invokes like gravity sphere work exceptionally well after a few timestop weapons. Since damage multipliers for DW is abysmally low, invokes really start to shine in comparison to direct damage bonuses.

A word of warning: Making a PCC is basically making 12 sprites one after the other. There's 16 frames, but you can copy 1, 5, 9 and 13 two rows over. Also in most cases you can simply flip 2, 6, 8 and 14, leaving only 8 that have to be made. But if your sprite is asymmetrical you obviously can't do that. Don't try to rush it, work on it a little and then put it down or you will go nuts.

I thought it improved the loot that dropped from the chests themselves when you dug them up. The other map I had stayed the same though. It was really weird.

Also interested in this. To make it bigger, what does dungeon level affect in terms of loot? Crafting monster balls? Crafting? Opening chests?

I was told opening chests in the lobby of the 666 dungeon wouldn't do anything since they're influenced by where they're dropped now instead and also through my own testing crafting monster balls was affectd by dungeon level, but still limited to roughly 1.5x your player level. Crafting balls in my house only gave shit like level 1~3 consistently. Does that apply for weapon/armor crafting and whatnot?

Random dungeons are spiraling out of control and I don't actually want to delve further into remido until I have more resistances. I hate being mindcontrolled into suicide.

You know you can reset that, right?

I keep mine around rank 200 and I have no shortage of potions of potential. As for the herbs, you should save them for making herbed food.

Try to find a pot of fusion (puppy cave, general stores) anf with it you can grab a piece of food and mix it with a bunch of herbs (a curaria, a stomafilia and a rare herb) to give it a huge boost for attribute experience. If you have pets, be sure to use cooked food with a rank of 5 or more so you can share it with them.

Doesn't really solve the issue of the monotony. I can still find dungeons around my level if I look, they're just mindless. Seems every dungeon is either easy enough to run blindfolded or so ridiculously hard I can't even tell what killed me. Even then at least dying without warning keeps things interesting.

If only I could get a fucking lucky day. Why are they so rare now. Fuck I've had more wishes from drinking from random wells than lucky days during my current 100+ hours savefile.

You can get a steady supply of herb seeds by using Statues of Kumiromi. You will get one in South Tyris after completing lvl 60 quest. Later you may get as many copies as you want by turning in little sisters to mad scientist.
Something like 5 should be enough to maintain a herb farm, but I got 20 for 3 farms and a healthy blessed curaria(Herb) diet for me and 2 of my pets.

Before act II you can get lots of seeds as rewards from farming quests. Few of them will be herb seeds.

Do they get new stuff with higher level?

Not really, but the whole point is to keep getting potential pots anyways.

You need 30 cooking for the herb in recipe, and before you get a steady herb supply cooking gives steady stat growth to you and your pets. Then when you get herbs, sharing herbed cooked food with one of your pets gives slightly less stat exp than herbed curaria, but gives it to both you and the pet making your herbs go twice as far.

It's also fun to cook a huge batch of food, drop it everywhere and watch your pets sanic gobble it all up

I just dumped everything in the same convinient spot. South here, north was just above Palmia. With the boots of 7 leagues I can easily get anywhere I need to from here without any issue

As for stats, I don't see the big deal. I've been getting very lazy with mine because I have near infinite money and am doing level 90+ dungeons with absolutely no issue at all. The game is much too easy to need to play perfect.

Start saving for scrolls of growth than?

3.5 mil with capped NEG each.

Sold at souvenir vendors after some investment.
>>
What has science done?
>>
>>17330352
As is I'm investing in the shopkeeps I do have and hoping I can actually get a magic vendor (I've yet to see one in the list). I've invested to the point they're getting cheaper per 50 rather than more expensive as my negotiation goes up faster than the cost now though.
After I get my shop keeper I'll buy those
>>
>>17330366
Good luck. It took me ages to get 3 magic vendors in my home. They just seem to almost nevershow up in the list.

Haven't seen souvenir vendors in the list, so I guess they can't be hired in your house. But there're at least 2 guaranteed ones in Larna and Arcbelc, maybe some more I do not recall. Anyway there're not nearly as important as magic vendors, as for scrolls of growth the price is what matters, not the availability. Souvenir vendors after some level of investment seem to always have exactly 1 scroll of growth after refreshing.
>>
>>17330383
Really? I had one from buying a palace and 2 in the first list.
>>
>>17330383
Hire your first magic vendor, let's say his name is Julio. Change Julio's name to HOT DAD and lo, Julio is back in the list. Hire him again and rename Julio#2 to Longboy, and you can hire another one. Can repeat until you have 8 identical guys
>>
So how do you get big amounts of gold early on? I'm spoiled by huge inheritances and on fresh start i have pretty much no idea what to do - the usual sources of income are inacessible yet (high-level crafting and changing the material, nevermind the dungeons for hardcore fairies). I kind of started farming fame with pet arena but robber ambushes are too scary on hardcore so i've given up on that.
>>
>>17330408
I tried this with blacksmith to see if it worked and it just runs into the same issue hiring in general does where it views visitors as shopkeeps so even though I only have 3 vendors in my palace it thinks I'm maxed. Its really annoying that it does that.
>>
>>17330410
Rabbit farms give absurd income with no risk.
>>
>>17330410
First order is doing a ton of quests for plat to get your skills. As you do that, you will get a few 100k easily. Exhaust the boards in Vernis->Yowyn->Palmia then return scroll back. That money you invest in farm, ranch and most importantly shop. Assign a shopkeep, change it to blacksmith, start dumping in garbage gear. You'll quickly be raking in tens of thousands at first, and then hundreds of thousands a day.
>>
>>17330416
Please explain.
>>17330417
This unreliable little sister refuses to sell my stuff to esteemed customers. Such a spoiled brat, gonna go and whip her again.
>>
>>17330425
General shop is garbage and has low sell rate, you must specialize. Blacksmith sells all equippable items. If you start up a farm and are good at cooking, hamburgers and steaks in a food shop will also net you a lot of money. But it is slower to restock your food shop (need to cook first) than it is to grab and drop equipment.

>>17330437
Oh shop is specialized already, but it basically gives only a pocket change since she only sells 1-2 random items every other day. I somehow managed to gather 1,5 mil thanks to a few random superior material scrolls, but thats hardly reliable.
Is there a lower chance to sell very expensive items in unpopular shop or something? I've had 3 expensive items laying around but she didnt sell them for a couple of weeks, now i just dump all <> stuff here and she sells them every other day.
>>
>>17330425
Capture rabbits, put them in farms. Enjoy income. Its pretty simple. You just cook them, sell the skin and milk.
You also get permanent luck increases as a side effect. Can be done from the instant you can afford a single farm. They breed very fast
>>
>>17330497
What. I just put in mad scientist with 1 negotiation and he instantly started selling 5-10 at first, and then dozens of items a day. But I did stock the shop to the brim with a variety of trash. And yes, I think negotiation affects the price range that your pet can sell reliably, with the upper limit going up as negotiation increases.
>>
>>17330510
Btw do you need to keep some animals alive on ranch to make breeding faster?
>>
>>17330604
It's the inverse, a breeder all alone breed faster than with company.
Why, you ask ?
Because go fuck yourself*, that's why - The Gods

*they mean that literally
>>
>>17330617
Oh! Now i understand why my rabbit stopped breeding like, well, rabbit. Got some bats with 200 breeding power here as well.
