Game has been out for I think close to a year now as a non-H, kinda like Attack on Moe from my understanding.
As for gameplay. Combat is like in this picture shown. You passively generate points, and then use those points to summon your girls onto the field on the right side of the screen. You can bring a pool of 15 girls total + 1 friend girl, you can also choose one girl who will guaranteed show up in your starting hand. You can also equip two special abilities onto your Lieutenant and use those as well, but they also cost points to use. Winner is whoever takes out the enemy pre-placed commander first. Yours is a Lieutenant who you get to choose early on in the game, Rachel (Freedom girl), Evie (British blonde with the cup of tea), or that one Russian girl with the chain sword. If a girl dies in combat, there's no permadeath, but there is a repair time. But unlike other games where you get like 2 repair slots and then have to spend $$$ if you want 1-2 more, you can repair all 15 girls in your squad at the same time (if you're that much of a shitter and get your entire squad annihilated). If you want to speed up repairs, you can use Coins + Steel (Coins are the in-game currency, Cores are the Premium Currency). For getting new girls, you can get them as drops, but I think you can only get 1* - 3* that way, to get 4* and 5* there's a couple of ways. There's Construction (spend some Coins, Steel, and Oil to construct a random girl and then you can claim her after construction is done).
1 Hour Timer = 1*
2.5 Hour Timer = 2*
8 Hour Timer = 3*
24 Hour Timer = 4*
48 Hour Timer = 5*
In addition to that, there's a Gacha where you can spend 75 Cores to roll once or 750 Cores to roll 11 Times, but the rates are shit, but you do get guaranteed 5*s after awhile. 80% for a 3*, 15% for regular 4*s, 4% for "rare" 4*s, and 1% for 5*. In addition, there's also Login Rewards that give you a random 5* girl each month. Events can also give out gacha 5* girls as high end point farming rewards. Finally, you can choose to get exact 4*s/5*s you want using Blueprints plus a small amount of Coins, the girls on Blueprint rotation change every week I believe. You can get 25 Blueprints a day from a daily mission, 3-7 from selling 3*s, and I dunno how much from selling 4*s/5*s, but then also like another 100 a day from doing Portal of Chaos every day if you're high level enough. (I get more like 20 myself). A 5* costs 2500 Blueprints and a 4* costs 250 off the top of my head.

From what devs have been saying the last few months though, game is getting get an absolutely massive update patch all at once as soon as it launches on Nutaku, since they've been saving up all their changes to release in one go. So far, just the things they've teased: big balance changes in units/classes, rebalancing scaling, you can now change your Lieutenant girl instead of permanently being stuck with the one you first picked, a homebase screen, affection system, multiple art works added for girls that you can change between.

I don't know enough about WW2 tanks to be able to identify nationality on all of them by names, but looking at the few I have I imagine it's possible, or very close to possible, if you're willing to include the low rarity Russian tanks as well. Which might not be so much of a gimp in the long-term, due to needing to level up resource expedition girls, as well as how the devs have been hinting about a way to increase the rarity of girls in the future.

As for the whale ship you need 16 of each type to turn the whale ship into each type and 40 girls total instead of the normal 20. Looks like you'll be crushed by it for the time being.

Nearly every whale set starts with easy 30-stamina maps, which you should be able to do from the get-go if you have a good ally, just be sure to fill at least 16 spots with on-element girls to change whale attribute. The farming efficiency on these is bad, though, you want a full set of 40 level-maxed girls (plus spares from each element) to really whale in earnest.

You're off to a great start with these rainbows, though, things will be easy once you're done with the levels. As for the dragons, later events give a good number, you'll eventually be able to buy them with whale medals, and you can always ask Acolyte to run a log-in campaign with fairy/dragon/ampule rewards to boost popularity. No one is actually paying to get these things, so it's not like there will be a loss.

And while we're bragging, here's my whale, though it's fairly below-average as far as DMM goes. As for blacks, got Elyse, Asherah, Angeline, Mireille, Frederica, Clissa and Sarah.

I'm at 33k power, with a relatively shitty light team (2xR, 1xSR, 1xSSR). Ragna Apoc hits pretty rough during rage, but given the element advantage, I can easily break thorough it with a well-timed burst. I still lost two himes by the time she was dead though.

Ragna Phoenix is another story. She loves to buff herself during rage, and as soon she gets attack up, on top of her high multi-attack chance, I see a lot of 6k+ damage/hit, even with 4 attack downs. For that I recommend waiting out the buffs, and trying to save your def downs to reapply.

None of them are a must have, but in terms of which ones are game changers at end-game, you're looking a B.Iris as the queen, with Lapis being pretty close. I haven't heard much about the new priest warrior yet, but I imagine she's up there since she's functionally very similar to B.Iris.

Turns out that new dodge is incredible in this map. A boss that does 20k damage per turn doesn't amount to much when it can't hit you to begin with, and dodging is also great for stalling out its near-invulnerable first turn effect.

Wonder what kind of crazy new mechanic the next Kodaibana map will bring. I like how Cymbidium and Dendrobium were so busted that they made a map with special rules just to deal with them, though.

Awakening. It's a kind of second class change that gives you more stats and extra, character-specific abilities. There's also skill awakening, which gives a new skill to every gold+ character, and second awakening, which adds more stats and some fancy new buffs. These don't exist yet on Nutaku.

EN Aigis was still godawful compared to DMM last time I checked, so you may want to switch over while you're just starting. Aigis in general is a F2P-friendly game though, you can handle most content with event units after the initial hurdle. As for the other games, Nutaku's Kamihime Project and Flower Knight Gİrl are handled decently well, but tough luck if you want SSRs/rainbows (highest-rarity girls). These are by no means necessary for FKG, which is a take-it-easy cute girl collection game where all event characters can be obtained by a beginning player from day 1 on, but you probably want some on Kamipro to make your life easier.
