You'll need:
- 100mm white, domed buttons (do not buy plain buttons). Your best choice are Sanwa OBSA-100UMQ (https://www.akishop.jp/buttons/322-obsa-100umq.html#%23). I use generic Aliexpress buttons at this moment. They work well, but I feel I'll replace it for Sanwa sooner or later.
- Brook Universal Fighting Board or PS4+ Audio Fighting Board. You'll connect all the buttons here (http://www.brookaccessory.com/Fighting%20Board/list.html).
- For the slides, I recommend either 60mm domed buttons or, as I used, square 50x33mm ones. Typical layout is <- <- -> ->, but I've seen people using <- -> <- -> as well. These don't need to be quality ones since you don't need to press them fast enough.
- For directional buttons and such, you can either use regular 30mm buttons, as I did, or even smaller ones. It's your choice. I've seen people using a stick for directions, but I personally don't like it. You'll need, at least, buttons for Home, Share and Options, but I recommend using one for the touchpad button as well.

And well, you'll need wood, methacrylate, painting and so on. I found that the panel must be, at least, 50x32 cm. to accommodate all the buttons. The artwork is just plain A3 paper sandwiched between the methacrylate (2-3 mm) and a wood plank. The artwork of the buttons are made by printing transparent sheets (the ones you would use on keynotes) and glueing them with water based paper glue.

And yes, took me around a month of work. Was totally worth it, though. I couldn't be happier.

Yes, building the case is the most difficult part... if you never worked with wood before, as me. I had to find someone to help me (my father, in my case). But for someone that knows, it is fairly easy, you just need to worry about doing perfect 45º corners.

Wiring is easy. Just follow the manual of the Brook PCB. For the wires, just go to any hardware store and buy whatever cable you want, you don't need anything special.

Ok, this is is basically.

The switches have three pins: a Common one connected to ground (GND in the Brook) and the other two as marked as NO and NC (Normally Open and Normally Closed). Look at the marks or check it with a multimeter, I don't remember where is each one. The NO connects to Common when the button is pressed, and the NC when the button is released. You just need to connect each of the Brook connector dedicated to buttons to each switch in the NO connector and all the Common altogether with any GND connector in the Brook. Because you'll have 15-16 Commons and the Brook only has like 3-4 GNDs, I just shorted all the GND altogether in the bottom parte of the case, as I drawn.

The buttons also have internal LEDs, connected to two pins at each side. Connect the positive one to the 5V in the Brook and the other one at the NC connector of the switch. That way, the button will light up when not pressed, and light off when pressed, just like in the Arcade. Again, I shorted all 5V pins together because the Brook only has 1-2 5V connectors. You'll probably need to check what pin is positive and what negative with a multimeter.

Oh, and one last thing: the internal LED is normally prepared for 12V supplies so maybe the light is too dim for your tastes (especially for the white ones in the 100mm buttons). If it is too dim, you'll need to disassemble the LED and change the 1 KOhm resistor for a 100 or 200 Ohm. For this you need to solder. I suggest you try it first and see how it is.

The wires are connected to the Brook with a screw, so you won't need anything for that side, except to peel them a little. But for the switches, I highly suggest you to buy these connectors. There are crimp tools, but I just used pliers instead.

Wait until you receive the buttons and then go with them to a hardware store so they can give the right size for the pins in the switches and buttons.

These are the PDF layouts of the full size buttons (the space they take on the panel) and the drills for a 50x32 cm panel. I suggest you to create an A3 file with Photoshop and import them as layers, so you can put your design above them. At the time of printing the design, I printed both my design AND the drills layer so I knew where to cut (I only used the full size buttons layer to know what was going to be visible). I also included the design of the face buttons, you can just print them directly on transparent sheets and cut them with scissors.

The assets are accurate BUT keep in mind that I mounted the 100mm buttons in a wrong manner. These buttons have a plastic piece that goes BELOW the wood plank and not above (see how raised are mine in >>17211888 ?, that's why), so the hole for these are not 24mm as I designed, but much larger. You'll understand better when you receive the buttons. Doing 24mm holes and mounting the piece above is certainly easier but it's not the right way to do it and I probably fix that if I finally buy Sanwa gear.

The methacrylate is blue because it has an adhesive protective layer that you should remove ONLY after doing the holes and just before mounting the buttons. Methacrylate is soft as fuck and will get scratch very easily. Buy more than 50x32. Like 2x or 3x times more. I broke 2 sheets drilling the holes. Fortunately, 2-3mm methacrylate is not that expensive.

Mines all came with LEDs. They are regular LEDs but they are embedded in some sort of arcade mounting like this ones. All these LEDs are designed for 12V so they'll work with 5V but they will be dimmer. They can be easily disassembled by unrolling the legs and you can change the 1K resistor for 200 - 300 Ohm ones, if you want them brighter, that's it. If not, it's fine.

The Brook has 4 GND connectors, but you have like 15 pins that should go to GND (the Common pin of each switch). You can't connect all of them unless you short them together: that is, joining the wires at one point and then to any GND connector (or joining 4 wires for each GND).

The same goes for the 5V connector. You only have one, but if you use LEDs, you'll need to connect 15 wires there. You can only do that joining the wires together.

The easiest way is to just wrap them together, but that is not a very elegant solution. I just used those plastic blocks that electricians use inside the distribution boxes you have at your home.

Be patient with your building. It is normal to not know things but you'll learn with each step. If you are in doubt, ask someone.

I'll be sure to ask for more help once I get everything in the mail and actually start building it
in the meantime I guess I'll just try to throw up a design in photoshop for the artwork
