Ive also tried to connect a xbox controller. It responds like the arcade stick, but I still cant change the keys back.

try going into your control panel then going to "device manager". you may have to set your view to "small icons" in order to see the device manager option. Once you get there, try uninstalling the offending device. Something like this happened to me with Subterranean Animism and also every single game in RPGmaker, and this solution worked for me. I have never seen anyone else use this trick, but it worked for me.

I play touhou on stick, it's really not that great but its playable. Keyboard is a lot easier though but I don't like using it.

Install it on another computer.

Rebind the keyconfig? What the heck were you doing in the first place, anon? The controller is entirely separate from the keyboard input.
