Even if a official Ever 17 is announced, we're not getting a particularly good version. Its latest console release was a mess with the animated graphics. I remember gundamace (that's his name I think) reviewing that version and say some positive / negative stuff about the script changes.

We all now how the original version is at it's extremely outdated, specially the engine.

>>
>>16951747
I'm upset at how it tries to make use of Christian themes and morals in Ritsuko's route without understanding them at all. The whole divorce thing in particular was fabulously retarded.
I suppose some of that was in Ayaka's route, too. They could have at least tried to portray the faith properly if they wanted to make use of it.
Although, I suppose the Christians in Japan also have some unique ideas about certain beliefs.

I'm not a Christfag but it's just annoying to me because it's lazy. It's no different from something else not being properly researched but being used as a focal point of a narrative, such as some scientific element being handwaved, or some occultic belief being liberally interpreted and missing the point.
I mean, you shouldn't expect quality writing from moege, but sometimes it's hard not to get annoyed by huge mistakes. There's always people complaining about all sorts of inconsistencies in anime/manga/VNs and being told "it's not real life, deal with it." This is no different.

>>16951747
Christian schools for girls founded by European missionaries, where well-to-do parents sent their daughters for the fashion, modernity and cosmopolitan lifestyle associated with the West while ignoring the religious stuff, were a big thing in the Taisho Era and beyond. A lot of visual novels seem to base their all-girl-school settings on stories about these schools. The lack of religiosity at the religious school is a convention, not necessarily a mistake.
>>
>Rance still at 2nd place
How?
>>
>>16958132
Kuroinu wasn't a particularly strong seller, perhaps. Well, it'll probably do okay in the long run.

Based on the recent fluctuations in Rance's placing, it probably isn't selling that much more than 3rd, 4th, or 5th place is currently selling right now. It's not like Rance has stayed in 2nd place all of this time, and it has dropped off the chart completely during a sale. It's probably like many of the other long nukige (and Huniepop) and will appear in the chart sporadically even years from now.
>>
>>16957157
This lad is clearly baiting.
>>
>>16958165

Kuroinu did sit at rank 1 for basically an entire month, but If we take the order number from
>>16947237
and subtract from the 270196 on 3/30, we've got 2236 orders. Depending on how much of that you want to assign to kuroinu(I'd personally assume a fourth of it myself), it does end up looking like a pretty average seller.

It's getting released in Chinese by Visual Arts. Sekai Project will release the English version. The release date was likely a mistake by Visual Arts.
>>
>>16963787
July 29 of last year is when the HD version was first released in Japan. They probably shouldn't have put that as its release date, because it makes it look like an old release.

>>
>>16963895
I'm talking about the July 29th date on the page. They should've used its Steam launch date instead.
>>
>>16963878
Having the rights doesn't mean they necessarily will though. I don't see any evidence that Sekaiproject will actually release an English translation for HD. I suppose someone else could make this patch in all likelihood though. Is it worth it sticking around /jp/ in hopes for a patch or should I just give up and play the normal game instead?
>>
>>16963907
Considering the HD version doesn't really add anything and the normal version is very cheap. I'd say just play normal.

They spent most of the time discussing Pygmalion, which Kouryuu said when asked that it "reached their expectations".

It seems some unannounced R18 gameplay type title is in line for after Sweet Young Bride. He also said Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome should be this Summer.

Otherwise he also said, "Lots of interesting announcements at Anime Expo", and that they are looking to add the new NYC anime convention.
>>
>>16964144
Gameplay title will likely be an Anime Central announcement. I wonder if it's going to be a Please Bang My Wife situation where it gets revealed before it's convention announcement.

>>
>>16964144
I wonder if it'll be Alicesoft. I think Softhouse Chara is likely enough though, and it could be a very small title like Orc Castle. It's not something from Umesoft or Hentai Industries since they are third party.
>>
Chrono Clock is still in the 13th slot on Denpasoft, not that much above the 15th slot it got solely through Kickstarter backers. So while it seemed to have done well on Nutaku the late Denpa release seems to have done quite little.
>>
Okay maybe a stupid question but how can I tell what translation my copy of Planetarian has?

It should say in the summary of the store page. Or on the box, I suppose.

If you pirated it, just open up the program.

I did. Now what? It's not like I can't afford the game on Steam or anything it's just that I'm waiting for the HD version. I'm also just curious about the differences. Steam tends to censor VNs so I'm not really willing to support them.

>I think Softhouse Chara is likely enough though

The first thing they'd do if they had a deal with Softhouse Chara is talk to Aroduc. Take it from me, they haven't.

The first statement has nothing to do with the second one.

No VN is better without H.
>>

In any case, they probably would have put if one of their games was from a new partner by now.

While Alicesoft is their best known partner when it comes to gameplay, Liarsoft also has gameplay titles. A Softhouse-Seal title after all of this time would be kind of funny though they might be with Mikandi now.

>Thinking of getting a limited edition hardcover copy but I live in Europe. Do they ship internationally?
They do but it's so fucking expensive, i wanted to buy the limited edition of KnS2 but shipping costs are scary.
>>
>>16965001
>The first thing they'd do if they had a deal with Softhouse Chara is talk to Aroduc
Not really. They could just throw any translator at those games. And Aroduc hasn't been involved in official translations ever since his dealings with JAST. His blowup with Sekai Project likely embittered him to official work as well.
>>
>>16965259
Most nakige are better without it. I am just assuming that is what Key does.

Does anyone have any idea how to get my hands on White Album the remake for PC? It was released originally for ps3 but in 2012 it apparently got a PC port. I havn't been able to find it for download anywhere online. I don't want the PS3 version.

>steam restoration patch
This seems pointless and the wording makes it seem like the unrated version contains content not patched when getting the Steam version.

tl;dr If I buy the Steam version, then apply this patch. Would I be missing out on anything in the Unrated Version?
>>
>>16969562
Yeah, it says right there.
>>
>>16969572
It says it won't be included 'anymore'. Which is awkward English at best due to its ambiguity. If you don't know please refrain from answering. Your post count won't matter here.
>>
>>16969576
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/anymore

I fail to see how the word anymore is ambiguous in this context.
>>
>>16969617
Okay. But you failing to do so is irrelevant to the argument. As I said prior: 'If you do not know the answer please refrain from answering'. There's no credit to be had from being witty, nor is inflating your post count a thing so I don't see any reason for you to be acting like this.
>>
>>16969562
There are 2 versions of the game, the 18+ version and the all ages version. Each version has scenes unique to that version.

By applying the 18+ patch you will lose the scenes added into the all ages release.
>>
>>16969687
Which scenes are better? Usually the non-h scenes right?
>>
>>16969775
The all ages is better because they took out all the icky porn.
>>
>>16969783
I usually just find the porn scenes poorly written. And not bad-in-an-amusing way bad either. The whole sex before dating or holding hands always seems unrealistic to me. Then again I'm not speaking from experience.
>>
>>16969775
For Grisaia in particular, the all ages release was based on the Japanese Vita release and because of the restrictive Japanese console ratings it had some dialogue toned down or cut in addition to the removed H-scenes.
>>
For Eden of Grisaia, being out nearly a week it seems to have fallen off somewhat faster than the second title did so it is likely not doing quite as well as its prequel. Although that was probably to be expected for the 3rd title in a trilogy.

It's not a restoration patch, it's just the 18+ version of the game that's getting copied wholesale over the Steam install.

Imouto Paradise 2 have been stuck on 64% editing for ever. How much longer will it take them?
>>
>>16971277
Doddler still has major programming work to do on it, so looking at its editing progress isn't really a good idea for when it will be released. It took him a very long time to get ImoPara 1 ready too.
>>
>>16971359
What would MG do if Doodler actually get in jail? Would they collapse?
>>
>>16971387
Most of the VN publishers rely on Doddler to some extent. And it would just mean trying to get the Japanese devs to do their own programming work, or getting less skilled programmers. That, or not picking up certain titles where programming would be an issue.
>>
>>16964814
I listened to the podcast, and Kouryuu did imply that Mangagamer was still interested in Propeller. I don't think that one of this year's announcements will be a propeller title though.

Most of the scripts are going to be the same, but the all ages vs R18 version has more differences than pretty much any other such translated title. Between that and the different engines is why Sekai delays the R18 version by months for Grisaia.

>>16972631
Same translation at heart.

Sekai (or any other localization company) wouldn't retranslate it completely. Too much money involved.
>>
>>16971387
No, if only because they have SLC for Alicesoft titles, Donson for Sono Hana, and many companies willing to use their own programmers. It would be painful though as they are relying on him for Higurashi, Imouto Paradise 2, Bokuten and probably the final Overdrive game, and other miscellaneous projects where BlackDragonHunt would be slower at best.
