I only watch a bunch of girls I found off LINE Live channels on Youtube because I think they're cute, their content is mostly make-up stuff or just kind of banal shit but it helps with learning the language. I don't really like some of the bigger channels because they feel too reddity.

I guess it's accessibility and just general layout. niconico doesn't load too well if you're overseas (and maybe even in Japan, I don't know), it has its own culture, it can be hard to navigate and find stuff worth watching, and video quality is still shit these days even if you are a premium member. Youtube is just easier I guess.

Most of what people here seem to consume on YouTube is uploaded media, whereas on Nicovideo there seems to be more of a focus on only uploading things you actually made yourself.
