At least it used to concentrate almost every artist. Now niggers are dispersing on twitter, seiga, nijie, etc.

Fuck what a hassle

Sorting tools are for casuals and plebs, you might as well stick to boorus if your want them

I just use 00users and 000users and get everything I want. If you don't like it don't use it.

Japanese sites are really bad for that shit. Nico Nico Douga is another example. Some users there are flocking to Bili Bili or Youtube, similar to how Pixiv users are going to Twitter or Nijie.

I can't think of any site worse than Twitter to share art. Shitty image quality, useless search function, no gallery system, and recently they've started cracking down on certain content. Hell, even Deviantart is better as an art sharing site.
>>
>>16737035
>How so?
What they were giving out for free and everyone to enjoy in the past now becomes paid only. And always remember, around 50% of the money never reaches the artist.
And it's not even that the prices are fine. If I wanted to pay for all the artists I like, I would need to be rich first.
>>
>>16737090
And now the fuckers force you to have an account if you want to see lewds.

Internet 2.0 was a mistake.
>>
>>16737150
>What they were giving out for free
Most people with free offerings still continue to offer as much as they did when they were free. As for professionals and doujinka, their stuff was never free (well, not supposed to be free.)
>>
>>16737280
I had to unfollow a dozen of artists on pixiv already because after they started on patreon or something similar they stopped uploading what they were before. Some of them only post low-res previews now.
>>
>>16737348
Patreon was a mistake. At least they're not having 1/4 the image being the PATREON logo.

Honestly that shit makes me hope they get their paywalled shit dumped on Sadpanda
>>
>>16736658
pixiv is unusable without paid account. Without search you might as well use twitter instead.

Having to pay money to apply basic sorting is perfectly sensible to you, Jewboy? Or how about the pain in the ass it is to download an animated GIF without a premium account? Business 101: No one will want shitty product if the basic version is shit.

>As bad as any other sites complained about here
Content wise? How so?
>>
>>16743005
>Having to pay money to apply basic sorting is perfectly sensible to you
Sites hiding practically anything behind a paywall is "perfectly sensible." Bandwidth isn't free. If it were free, then you could write a script to mirror all of Pixiv, with sorting, onto the site of your vhoice (which people actually do on Danbooru.)

>No one will want shitty product if the basic version is shit.
Nobody will want the premium version if the basic version works fine.
>>
>>16743005
I didn't say content wise, I meant it's as bad as people complaining twitter forces you to sign up to see lewd, or you have to pay for extra content on patreon, etc. You have to not only sign up, but jump through hoops to get basic access and then more hoops for advanced access. It also has a system that encourages people to primarily upload there and thus away from other places. It's like a step away from just charging 5bux for site support. How is just signing up for twitter any worse?

I was going to reply to your to your first sentence, but then I saw you were an /v/diot.

>>16742848
I don't know enough about css editing to do it, but if you remove the page style, you can see all images, and the thing is self is called <div class="AdaptiveMediaOuterContainer"> which contains <div class="Tombstone">, the thing that brings up the hidden message and <div class="AdaptiveMedia u-hidden">, which has all the stuff inside. You'd need to bring the stuff inside of it outside of it to make images show up again. I don't know anything else about how the media is displayed, how it goes into its gallery modes or anything, but just removing the u-hidden from around the rest should be enough. It doesn't really matter but you have to hide or delete the tombstone message to make it go away though, even though it itself is not actually blocking the image.
>>
>>16743184
Btw I'm talking in terms of firefox's inspect html editing thing, I don't know what to do to modify the way it displays stuff but since you can turn off the style and see the images, it should be a css thing.
>>
>>16742700
>>16743184
At least sadpanda maintains image quality. The number of images ruined because the author decided to post them to twitter is just sad. Thank god waifu2x exists.
I agree about the hoop jumping, but at least if you do that you don't have to see ads. I also appreciate that they let you choose your preference of torrent/DDL/save images one by one.
But the tagging system is just a fucking joke. I try to tag a little, you know, help out the community. I see a gallery that has girls shitting in it, no scat tag. If a gallery has any scat in it, no matter how little, you are supposed to tag it scat. I try to tag it scat, and find out the tag has been "vetoed" by some asshole admin, despite the fact that the girls are shitting right in front of my eyes. Now the scatfags can't find the gallery and the normal people can't avoid it.
The points system also sucks. You get points if you upload a gallery, or if you make a torrent for a gallery. I've got no problem with that, but how many points do you get if you seed a torrent? Zero. Guy makes a torrent and never seeds it after the first day, and he gets all the points from the people who seed out of the goodness of their hearts. No wonder half the galleries don't have torrents.
>>
>>16743073
>Bandwidth isn't free
Right, and that's why they have ads for us common folk.

>mirror all of Pixiv
Unless pixiv has the proper software to combat this, I don't see what is stopping someone from doing this, actually.

>Nobody will want the premium version if the basic version works fine.
That's why you make it work well enough that lots people will use the free version, and gain enough respect to have the few with money sustain the more expensive parts of the site. But these companies know they can exploit people after it becomes popular; people have settled in and will pay for shit they shouldn't need to because they are too used to it.
>>
>>16743184
Oh, right I forgot about that game bullshit. For the basic stuff however, it's hard to compare exhentai to anywhere else (as a consumer) in terms of what you get for the cost. Loads of free high quality doujins and all you have to do is sign up and download a browser addon. Emphasis on free as in free beer.
>>
>>16743306
What is it that pixiv needs besides "search for tag/s you want" and "porn only or not porn only"? I'd pay if you could filter by ip used to upload images though, so I could filter anything uploaded outside of Japan.
>>
>>16743350
That'd be a nice feature. Letting gaijin post on the main site was a mistake, it should be region locked to post with a side site like "world.pixiv" or something for all the dA shit.

Honestly, it's a mystery why anyone would complain about Pixiv. Use adblock, and you'll never see an ad. The search system works great, you can easily find more work from the same artist, and the picture browser for each set works perfectly and I've never had an issue with it.

It's a million miles better than the places that rip it off, like the assorted boorus where everything is improperly ordered, and the names and descriptions of works aren't even saved.
>>
>>16743350
All filtering and animated GIFS should be non-premium. That's all I ask for.
>>
>>16743242
Waifu2x is just as bad as twitter.

Adding a blur filter to upscaled images wont make it them better.

At this point he's just trying to counter-point for the sake of arguing.
>>
>>16743242
This is the reason I've basically stopped seeding. There's no incentive to keep wasting my bandwidth if I don't get shit for it. That same system is the reason we have people like LWND uploading ass-quality, upscaled 2006 camera phone scans. It encourages them to keep flooding with shit instead of actual uploads that are suitable for translating.
>>
>>16755306
Why would you ever use the torrents in the first place? They only exist for people who are too low on points to download anything normally.

A single upload will give you enough points to download anything you want until the end of time. I found some CG set stuck in a dumb "click to see next image" program, ripped it with print screen, and then uploaded it.

If you want to waste your bandwidth, just run the H@H shit.

As for scan quality, beggars can hardly be choosers.
>>
What the FUCK is up with the sudden influx of /v/ tier threads?
>>
>>16755371
It's the hot new way to shitpost. The mods are so used to people posting like that on other boards, that they think it's acceptable here and don't immediately delete the threads.
>>
>>16755306
We don't talk about LWND and his ilk here.

>>16755335
Stow it. Books that have a shit-quality scan are much less likely to be properly scanned than if they'd never been scanned at all.
>>
>>16755451
I'll take any scan over no scan, faggot. If it bothers you that much, spend the 20 bucks shipping it and scan it yourself, literally every single "terrible scan" I've seen on the panda has been perfectly readable.
>>
>>16755458
Woosh.
I do scan shit. Quite a bit, in fact. And if that's even half true, you've either got impossibly good eyes or haven't looked at many scans.
>>
>>16755466
Post an example or two of the worst you've seen, then.

Honestly, the H scene in general is pretty good in terms of scans. If you want to see fucking garbage unreadable stuff, look at regular manga. It's getting better, but there are still plenty of older series where you can barely make out the kanji.
>>
>>16755482
You think I remember the shit ones?
>>
>>16743184
>but jump through hoops to get basic access
what hoops? I literally only signed up on e-hentai and never had any issues. for the largest doujin collection on the internet with no ads or paid shenanigangs that's pretty petty.

it's also easier to keep up with works since on Twitter first you get packed with 50 billion pictures of what the artist ate that day as well as meaningless text, some artists tweet every nanosecond and only put up a picture once every blue moon.

twitter is also insanely broken, keeps messing with your feed and a simple refresh can mean someone you follow's tweets that day won't appear anymore on your feed unless you go to their account for some reason. I've missed a ton of uploads for that.
>>
>>16742666
But you can search without a paid account...?
>>
I'm surprised no one have mentioned userscripts yet.
>>
>>16736968
I really hate this shit.
Its really annoying if the artists stop posting on pixiv altogether and only use Twitter, Fc2 exclusively.

>>
>>16757442
When you upload a lot of pictures is a real chore.

I would rather let the danbooru autists tag them.
>>
Can someone explain to me what "My Pixiv" is...?
Is it like some kind of group thing like clubs on DA?
>>
>>16757361
Well then don't. Let other, less lazy people do the tagging.
There is literally no excuse for uploading all your art on twitter.
>>
>>16758894
My Pixiv is basically a way for artists to privatize certain images and share them with people who have their "My Pixiv". For a lot of artists it's a feature they don't use at all but there are still some artists that do and are cool enough to share if you only ask.
>>
>>16756781
Speaking about userscripts, are there any alternatives to pixiv filter? For some reason it stopped working.

Replace :large with :orig
>>
>>16757486
Better tagging system than twitter and the archice system makes it easier to find older posts. Only real issue I have with it is that you can't filter your dashboard to only show images like tweetdeck can or art tags, but Japanese artists rarely use tumblr for reblogging or blogging in general anyway.
>>
>>16762221
Twitter resaves to iffy jpeg quality. Even :orig isn't the actual file, it's just original resolution. When artists upload the same thing to Pixiv, that version is always the same or better.
