Depends on the game you're talking about.

Fire: Emblem Awakening and Fates has it so literally anyone can marry anyone. Even if the pairings make literally no fucking sense whatsoever. And then you get OP children characters who are hybrids of their two parents.

Old titles (when they even feature supports) have a lot of friendship supports but usually only 0-3 SO supports. Marriage is purely story-based, statwise it's identically to an A-rank but it changes the short epilogue story you get about each character that got married.
