Any /jp/sies listen to the Groundbreaking compilation albums? The newest one came out recently, I prefer it to last years one.

It's already February, isn't it? Didn't realize new gdbg is out. Will take a listen. Thanks, my dude.

Or no album? That's just an ad for their live show at mogra.
2012 is still my favourite bms of fighters compilation.

There's an album, its the link in the OP. I just used that image as an eyecatcher.

Your eye catch is the event and the link in your OP is to last January's release.

Oh, there's no album of the live event that I know of, just of the most recent compilation.
I hope it's not too late to ask this, but what exactly is the groundbreaking project? My impression is that it's a compilation of popular music written specifically to be played on "bootleg"/indie rhythm games.
Also, is it used more as a platform for up and comer composers to get exposure? I remember some solid names from previous releases that don't seem to be in the new one anymore (void, xi, sakuzyo, ginkiha). I'll still listen to the releases regardless; there's definitely songs from older releases that I still listen to, it's just some names don't go to the top of my head like the ones I mentioned.

It's a compilation of songs from BMS of fighters, which is a yearly event for the rhythm game BMS. As you said, it's a "bootleg"/indie game.
It is used a lot as a platform for new artists, but there are usually some relatively known artists included.
Also, Festa is xi.
