Let's color some images, /jp/. This neat site was posted in the draw thread and it's too cool to not get its own thread.
http://paintschainer.preferred.tech/
You can let it do its auto-coloring, like I did with this picture, or use colored dots to influence the coloring of specific areas.
First time using it, this is pretty nifty.
>>16503064
does this shit only work on chrome or what?
>>16503163
nvm, it actually starts uploading the picture when you load it.
Fucking technology, dude.
This is a nice website.
Useless program. What's the point of letting it color an image incorrectly? Someone show me how to use the color thing to color this sample image something other than the default attempt.
It took a bit of finnicking to get the colors right, but the outcome is nice.
>>16504572
Versus this if I just let the website color it.
>>16504580
Website is clearly a PC-98 fag.
>>16504270
I don't understand your complaint.
>>16504690
Forgot to mention this was without any input. Do you not realize how amazing this is for simply hitting one button? The shading here is amazing. The armpit area, below the neck, and of course the hair. Do I need to tell you about the stuff that happened between caveman drawing on walls and this moment right now for you to appreciate it?
Anyway, I'm still trying to get a hang of the manual method, but here's a screenshot to show an example. I believe the size of the stroke determines how much influence it has.
Tried with some of my beautiful artwork. Right is the site's automatic colorization.
>>16504771
It's very cute anon, I'll put it in the fridge
It's not bad.
>>16504771
Looks like the site thought that you drew Rumia!
Shame I can't get this to work out. The program seems made for it.
Maybe if I seperate the panels
No hints provided on this sketch.
Pretty close on the colors!
Fed it a non-BW monochromatic, mind blown.
Nice.
>>16508866
I'm actually making progress following this method. Until it bugged out anyway.
>>16503168
delicious
It keeps throwing server errors at me. Now that I had found a line art gold mine in my drawthread folder
Same, works every few attempts I make but it was fine last night, not sure what's up with it.
Used one of ham's loli colllage pictures to see how it coped with pics with several characters. Seems like it struggles a bit
I couldn't get Yayuyo's stuff to look quite right but for simpler stuff you can get pretty good results.
It's not perfect, but it does a fine job
More experimenting, tried to see how it deals with real life B&W pictures. Did a good job on the face but not much else.
Here's the best thing I've managed to get out of it so far.
>>16512205
Why did you give her a super deep sunburn?
Some more pissing around from it on my part.

I was going for the "Red Oni" look;
I really enjoy it.
>>16505823
lewd
The hair wasn't on purpose but looks pretty.
I cant stop coloring, i love it
>>16515905
Speaking of Oni, I coloured a Kasen
>>16516727
Well that was the joke the comic was making
>>16518626
That's nice and all, but what Oni did you color?
>>16518663
The pink oni.
>>16518735
So this... is the power of modern technology.
not 100% sure on how manual coloring works, but this is magic
>>16518735
nailed it
>>16528530
and this is without any hinting at all
I kind of like it.
>>16528530
okay, I think I have it figured out
I've been drawing big lines around where I want colored. Use light colors, dark ones cause splotchy artifacting, especially if you put it too close to a lighter color. It's miserable with fine details or barely visible bits of skin/clothing/whatever, don't bother trying to get them just right.
avoiding dark colors is really, really important, since they'll often cause artifacting far away from anywhere you'd expect (see: half the pictures in the thread)
There's a fair bit of trial-and-error, and you'll probably want to draw off-white in gaps so it doesn't fill in the space between arms like they're clothing or skin or whatever.
also, getting eyes right (especially big, blank lineart eyes) is the worst pain, it'll way overcompensate and put a huge dark splotch or have weird, brightly colored flat eyes depending on what you do
>>16528854
I've been trying to blend stuff and it works kind of decently. There's no light pink so I added white and two shades of dark pink for Patchy's dress.
I gotta admit this is pretty great
Do you have to reload the page for every new image? I doesn't look like it wants to cooperate.
i tried

Hit the [Browse] button to select a upload a new image.
Here's a more PC 98 reimu
Nice!

>>16536494
Modern Reimu version
blondie sleeping yuuka
i'm okay with that
>>16557434
god this is awesome
Have a Wackysaggyhime. Trying to keep the colors from bleeding out to where they aren't supposed to be is way too tricky for me.
>>16558781
And the original in case anybody else wants to try their hand at it.
