So here's what I'm trying to figure out. How can I listen to Japanese FM radio?
I want to hear exactly what I'd hear if I had a literal FM radio sitting in Tokyo, but it doesn't look like there's any good way to accomplish this.
Any idea what the most popular stations in Tokyo would be? Something that plays current music, news, etc?
Radiko.jp combined with a VPN would be your best bet, probably.
Try Radio Garden, should work.

I haven't found a lot of good ones otherwise, not that I haven't newly looked in a while. I've been making recordings of Fukuchiyama (Castle) for a few years now, and I think it's a pretty good general purpose station.
Got a question tangentially related to this thread: Any good (hopefully free) ways of watching live broadcasts from Japan? Any other services like NHK World out there?

Or, if you happen to live right next door to China, try http://mokodojo.net/, you get better picture and more channels. It almost always stutters for me, though.
