Since Mangagamer's 2016 post will be put up sometime this month, I thought I'd give a shot at predicting what it'll say before it goes up given we've got fairly detailed information for the entire year. Take these numbers with a grain of salt though(even more than usual), because they include blind estimates during the bundles(achieved by assuming similar orders as the month before the bundle) and loads of extrapolation in addition to the arbitrary weighing. That said, I'm reasonably confident that these'll be the titles listed(though maybe not in this order). Sakura Santa might belong somewhere in the bottom 5 of the third party top ten, but given that it was one of the titles involved in the credit card fraud, I didn't count its orders.

First Party End of Year Top Ten
1: Beat Blades Haruka 3.8k
2: Imouto Paradise! 1.4k
3: Funbag Fantasy 1.4k
4: EROGE! Sex and Games Make Sexy Games 1.4k
5: Princess Evangile 1.2k
6: OZMAFIA!! 1.2k
7: Kindred Spirits on the Roof 1.2k
8: euphoria 1.1k
9: A Kiss For The Petals: The New Generation! 1.1k
10: Rance VI + 5D 1k

Third Party End of Year Top Ten
1: Orc Castle 1.2k
2: HuniePop 1.1k
3: Club Life 900
4: Detective Masochist -The Case of the Femdom Torture- 750
5: Negligee - Adult Deluxe DLC Version 750
6: Stargazers - Adult Version 650
7: Quest Failed 650
8: Busty Maid: Creampie Heaven! 450
9: Summer Fling - Adult Version 400
10: Critical Hit 350

>KS is so shit that pathetic DI fanboys begging in other threads or forum to support the KS
>>
>>16348135
Should just let it fail and make them come back again with better rewards, stretch goals and timing like Sharin did.
>>
>>16347785
I can't believe some people still fall for SP's promises.
>>
>>16348154
Won't happen. They are far too retarded to do something like learn their lesson.
>>
>>16347785
Didn't they officially announced in their newsletter that they are delaying Chrono Clock? It's no longer set at January 2017.
>>
>>16348205
This. Frontwing at least tried to motivate people into pledging, even if by guilt tripping. Light simply put up KS and let it die with no engagement whatsoever. If it fails they'll just cut the losses and perhaps drop the entire project.
>>
>>16348426
That's very likely imo.
If the KS is failing this hard what would happen when they actually sell the stuff?
Tokyo Babel 2.0?
>>
>>16348433
Physical copies outside of KS are to be sold for 70$. Steamdrones are whining that VNs for 30$ are too expensive. Now imagine how hard will it fail when they put it in two parts, 30$ each.
>>
>>16348433
It's outperforming what Root Double did, especially before the Vita stretch goal was added, and it is better known than Root Double was. A Steam release with a Kickstarter that just barely gets across the finish line (without a Vita release) would probably do a bit better than Root Double did on Steam provided that there is no significant up or down effects as a result of differences in the release (two parts, how the R18 patch is handled, promotion differences, etc). That is to say, not a Tokyo Babel like disaster, but at the same time, nothing remarkable and below expectations.

At least initially, the anime boost it gets down the road is a huge wild card (although it is easy to imagine a scenario where the game is delayed until the anime, Kickstarters rarely meet their planned schedule after all and releasing along side the anime would be quite attractive if the release schedule were to slip).
>>
>>16348135
>Pathetic fanboys
You mean the ones that actually give a fuck and know if Dies Irae fails it may never see another Kickstarter again.

It will succeed obviously. It's close to Reaching it's initial funding goal. But I doubt they will reach the stretch goals due to their rushed stupidity.

They even have a thunderclap ready. For the final hours.

https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/51573-dies-irae-for-the-world
>>
>>16348154
The chances of that happening with Light are slim if this fails they will not come back. It's not like every studio will duplicate what Sharin did and reset the whole thing.
>>
>>16348251
No they did not they said it would be out early 2017 a lot of the things they announced will not be out this year except for maybe two titles. Sekai is still shit.
>>
>>16348452
Those are casuals who play Nekopara. Grisia series even released to 30$ per main entry.
>>
>>16348479
The anime will undoubtedly be a rushed confusing barely coherent mess.

I doubt that'll help the game. Perhaps it will drive some people to want to experience Dies Irae proper, but I doubt that'll be many, considering the full game asks for a rather long investment of time.
>>
I gotta ask, why the hell are translators and twitter e-celebs doing PR for Dies irae instead of Light or whoever is managing the Kickstarter campaign? Light should be punished for poor management, not helped
>>
>>16348751
Light seemed to think the leftovers from the anime kickstarter were good enough. They have made some changes to the campaign since it launched, but the current rewards only seem set up to hit the base goal, not any stretch goals. They clearly have no idea what made Muv-Luv campaign so successful. And then you have what appears to be a lazy, incompetent PR team they hired. PR team posts very few updates, claim to not know what add-ons were, and are slow to make actual improvements to the campaign. Not to mention PR seems to take alot of time off during the campaign and leaves fans to support the kickstarter.

Even with how badly the campaign is being managed, fans want the vn translated. There's no guarantee that Light would relaunch it if it fails, and even if they did if they don't make improvements, then it would most likely fail again and a second relaunch is unheard of. Fans can make it succeed the first time so they don't have to go through the same thing again. The thunderclap they have set up will reach over 95,000 people. The last 48 hours of the campaign will be very decisive.

Because Light and the PR team are doing shit nothing for it. Only the translators/e-celebrities are doing it for the sake of "muh Dies Irae wangfest".
Like >>16348426 said, Light is most likely to not redo the campaing if don't make the goal so now is time for the fans to make it.
>>
>>16348839
>Light is most likely to not redo the campaing if don't make the goal
That would be stupid. With March release most of the work for the game should be already done and quite a bit of money spend.
>>
>>16348972
It's set for a May release currently. And it's possible that the translators will only get paid if the kickstarter succeeds. It's just Light may have assumed that the kickstarter succeeded was a sure thing after their anime kickstarter did so well.
>>
>>16348978
>it's possible that the translators will only get paid if the kickstarter succeeds.
That would be hilarious. Conju-poo wasted few years translating DI for free only to never released it.

>>
>>16349018
No one need a permision to talk about a mediocre translator like him, learn your place lowlife-kun.
>>
>>16348995
Dies irae will almost definitely be released irrespective of the kickstarter, they're not going to waste all the shit they've already translated. Just means Light's other shit probably won't get translated anytime soon

Cool. You saw through the obvious fuck-up in the fan TL.

One thing to note is that 伝わる is 自動詞 and both you and and the fan TL translate as if there were its 他動詞 counterpart - 伝える. That's not a mistake, rather it's a good stylistic choice in English, you just have to be sure you made it intentionally, not mixed up the two Japanese verbs.

>>
>>16347875
If Haruka managed to get that high up above second place, and Rance does get into the top 10 of the year in a month (if you include the preorder period), then Mangagamer is almost guaranteed to announce more Alicesoft. AS already said that they were happy with Haruka's sales, so they should be fine with Rance VI's comparable sales.

My main concern is if Mangagamer localizes one of the newer titles, and it doesn't sell quite as well as Alicesoft would like. They may have different standards for titles that have already received a low price edition and those that have not.
>>
>>16350633
I have to question where your optimism comes from if you think it won't be a total mess.
>>
So, did ReadingSteiner get fired yet? I need to up my pledge on Kickstarter.
>>
>>16350662

I'd be very surprised if rance doesn't make the top ten, as the only way I can see that happening is if Orc Castle counts as a first party title(it doesn't have the third party marker, but I believe haro said it is). Even then, it could still eek out a placement because it and the bottom titles are all within 200 of each other, which any of them could be off by. If Orc Castle counts as third party, I'm fairly sure it's a lock though. The only titles behind it would be stuff like himawari/free friends 2/please bang my wife which are more in the 500-600 range.
>>
>>16350675
Well for one producers are Genco which are not that bad, and second of all we do not know how many episodes there will be. Its just too early to judge right now without anything out for it.

Trying to jam an over 60 hr game into a 12 episode series... lets see how that will end up!! Doesn't most of the sales happen in the first month?
>>
>>16352485
Depends on the title, Haruka had a really long lifespan and stayed on the Top 5 long after the first month.

Things like Please Bang My Wife are mostly in the first month sale title when the majority buy it then and it only gets bought at moments like sales and the like after.
>>
>>16352485

For reference, Haruka continued to chart for 24 weeks after launch(not including hardcopies).

It's also worth noting that the rest of the likely top ten, minus sonohana and kyonyuu fantasy all have hardcopies as well.

Does anyone know how to fix these glitches (left and right of the screen) using an Intel integrated graphic card while playing Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua?

There is a reddit thread, but only works for Nvidia and AMD GPUs: https://www.reddit.com/r/fatestaynight/comments/35kb71/a_solution_to_the_black_bar_problem_with_fatestay/

It seems to be related with the resolution and 4:3 aspect. Once an effect triggers, it leaves those marks on the sides of the screen, and the only way to fix it is to disable effects or alt+tab every time.

Thanks.
>>
>>16353524
By the way, pastebin.com/WrwGGPxM, recommends using Reso to force 800x600, but it doesn't seem to work with Locale Emulator.

Does anyone know what's going on with the White Album 2 translation? They've been in editing mode for an awful long time now. Not sure if they're polishing turd or if they're actually trying to do it justice now.
>>
>>16353944
I don't know how they could possibly polish a translation that fucks up this bad:

「いいや二人だ。
つい10分前まで六人いたのにな。
仲間割れだよ。空中分解だよ。電撃解散だよびっくりだ」

"No, you have two. Though you had six people here not ten minutes ago, it's a wrap. An instant breakup. The club fell apart in a mere moment."

They took witty banter where the guy made 2 outrageous metaphors (original is something like: "this is a split-up, a mid-air breakage, electric dissolution") and condensed it into 'fell apart in a mere moment'.

At this rate you can only expect a translation that reads like a summary of the events without any of the writing. The problem is that I bet there will be tons of fans who will just eat that up because they have nothing better, and assume that its a proper translation.

Do not forget they have the Thunderclap left, and also the possibility of Vita sites talking about the funding goal. If all goes according to plan they could get past the initial goal and the PS Vita goal.

One thing Muv Luv and Grisaia did have going for them was they had fan translated visual novels and also an anime on top of that a long while back. Which really does help the exposure.

Dies Irae does not have any fan translation or even an anime. Not even a niche following to help them. Mostly they are dependent on word of mouth and hoping the Synopsis will intice viewers to fund them.

I still look back at when SekaiProject first started and wonder how it went so wrong. A lot of people were excited when Grisaia had a chance to get localized in the west. The KS was overwhelmingly positive, but after the KS ended, everything went downhill and SP just keeps getting worse and worse.

      生命よこの祈りを聞け怒りおののく喜びを枕に
      百年の生は炎と剣の連環が幾重にも飾り立てよう

Laughing myself in the gap between life and death and forgetting oneself as ecstasy
Then go to the curtain of the dawn's wailing curtain

Saints performing miracles will save sentient beings and curse God and vomit
The golden helm of the helmet conquers the Great Warrior and sinks to the bottom of the river with the love horse
Mikihime of the lake abandons the country, chooses love, drowns in manure to death
An orphan gets rotten from her belly after three nights with her mother's milk
Life, listen to this anthem sort of laughing Tired of tired grudge
Life Let's listen to this prayer Wrath An angry pleasure with pillows
Life of a hundred years will decorate the linkage between fire and sword many times
The seventh day's life will be shielded innocently protected by darkness and silence
Beast, be afraid of the dance field, sing a song, rush up and run fast
Now all chains and cages have decayed soil masses in front of you

Ask himself as a proposition imposing on himself the choice of life and death
Go ahead with the curtain of the comedy to the whirlwind swirl of ridicule

A dog that stands up on a stormy night fights boldly with stupid thieves
Chicks waiting for parents in a warm nest relax snake's belly on their beds
A lion born under sunbeams has satiated thousands of deer
Frog eggs listening to babbling is picked up by children and trampled
Those who believe in the meaning of life Listen to the serious sophistry of clown
Those trembling with the fear of death Satan masks are black painted mirrors

If you ask questions to life, clowns and devils have spoon
If you believe in life and indulge you, clown and devil take off your crown
Beast, be afraid of the dance field, sing a song, rush up and run fast
Now all chains and cages have decayed before you

Laughing myself in the gap between life and death and forgetting oneself as ecstasy
Then go to the curtain of the dawn's wailing curtain

Obviously you've never read Hart Crane:

The tarantula rattling at the lily’s foot
Across the feet of the dead, laid in white sand
Near the coral beach—nor zigzag fiddle crabs
Side-stilting from the path (that shift, subvert
And anagrammatize your name)—No, nothing here
Below the palsy that one eucalyptus lifts
In wrinkled shadows—mourns.

And yet suppose
I count these nacreous frames of tropic death,
Brutal necklaces of shells around each grave
Squared off so carefully. Then

To the white sand I may speak a name, fertile
Albeit in a stranger tongue. Tree names, flower names
Deliberate, gainsay death’s brittle crypt. Meanwhile
The wind that knots itself in one great death—
Coils and withdraws. So syllables want breath.

But where is the Captain of this doubloon isle
Without a turnstile? Who but catchword crabs
Patrols the dry groins of the underbrush?
What man, or What
Is Commissioner of mildew throughout the ambushed senses?
His Carib mathematics web the eyes’ baked lenses!

Under the poinciana, of a noon or afternoon
Let fiery blossoms clot the light, render my ghost
Sieved upward, white and black along the air
Until it meets the blue’s comedian host.

Let not the pilgrim see himself again
For slow evisceration bound like those huge terrapin
Each daybreak on the wharf, their brine-caked eyes;
—Spiked, overturned; such thunder in their strain!
And clenched beaks coughing for the surge again!

Slagged of the hurricane—I, cast within its flow,
Congeal by afternoons here, satin and vacant.
You have given me the shell, Satan,—carbonic amulet
Sere of the sun exploded in the sea.

You talked about grandiosity of the prose.

By minimalism I meant he conveyed every huge load of information with deft poetic movement. The information he provides per fight is undeniably massive, but Narahara always has this way to balance out information given with something special, like a beautiful turn of phrase or an interesting observation that gets into the psychology of the fighters.

But by true minimalism I'm thinking of the first time Muramasa appears, and the shamisen starts playing, and it goes 蜘蛛 etc... with quick bursts of action. His ability to create balance in long and short like that is a testament to his mastery.

Haruka is likely to be the best selling game by a landslide if this >>16347875
is remotely accurate, and Kouryuu said that Rance VI is likely to do even better than that, so probably yeah.

Sengoku is definitely first though. Quest has the issue of not having a budget edition, and Alicesoft possibly being stricter with that title because of that. MG might have to charge more than usual because of that, up to $50-$60 dollars.
>>
>>16373557
The thing is that I've already clocked hundreds of hours in Sengoku. Fairly sure I've seen almost every single cutscene and squeezed every bit of enjoyment out of it as possible.

I can't think of anything more agonizing for Rance fans then to release a game that has been fan translated for several years instead of one of the newer untranslated titles. Even though Sengoku Rance could definitely benefit from a higher quality translation and engine work.

I think Mangagamer is in a bit of a pickle with Sengoku Rance. If they skip it now I can't imagine they would be able to come back and translate it years later. It's already a decade old Yet if they do choose to translate Sengoku next they would have to deal with something of a revolt from the Rance fans who came out in droves to buy VI + 5D after being forced to wait through the Haruka BS. The only question would be how many of those angered fans are actual paying customers.

And the real numbers are in http://blog.mangagamer.org/2017/01/06/2016-in-review/

Rance did even better than I expected, and its presence explains the absence of sonohana from the top ten. All the weeks when both were charting obviously had rance eating the lion's share of the orders.

Ozmafia being absent isn't too much of surprise either, since it had the most blind bundle estimates, but what is surprising it that NTY made the list instead since, outside of hardcopies, it didn't really chart much at all. Perhaps it was very successful hardcopy wise?

Still, overall, 8 out of 10 isn't too bad I suppose, with the placements usually only being one or two off for the majority would be fair, I'd say.

The third party list was a bit more of a shitshow it would seem. I thought all of those no one but you orders were kickstarter code redemptions, but apparently not. As for quest failed, it would appear that similar to sonohana, while charting, was basically having all of it's orders eaten by rance. Then there's negligee being first, something which is pretty surprising to me. It must have really been over-performing in the four weeks it charted. Finally, there's menagerie, which I apparently literally forgot existed, since I didn't even mark the numbers for it.

In the end, 7 out of 10 with the placement being far off is a rather poor showing there.
>>
>>16374237
I don't see why fans would be too angry about getting Sengoku. It's not like it's not Rance.

Honestly, most likely I'd see the 01 remake being translated/announced at the same time as Sengoku. That way, it solves multiple problems all at once - Rancefags desperately wanting new, presently untranslated content, and getting the full story from start to finish instead of skipping Sengoku or the earlier games. Satisfies everyone. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they just purchased the existing translation for Sengoku and QCed it, speeding everything up.

Regardless, I'm not expecting anything for almost a year, and no announcements until Anime Boston at best, or Anime Expo/Otakon at worst, especially since they have a gargantuan backlog of stuff to release and translate.

>TFW I am glad to see Euphoria and Tokyo Babel in the top ten.

I noticed Himawari did not do as well to even be on the top ten. But I am sure it will do better once summer rolls around. And ironically the things that did really well on steam was Higurashi and Umineko which prove that the deep storylines do still sell.

According to >>16347375, Bokuten, Negai no Kakera, SukiSuki will almost definitely be out by 2017. Dal Segno, Imouto Para 2 and Kuroinu Chapter 1 seems likely.

That's about six month worth. If minori was serious about Trinoline simul/close to simultaneous release, that might be this year too. Hapymaher might make it too.
>>
>>16374237
I mean, they could just release 2 titles next year. Not to mention that good sales of Sengoku means it could get a physical release, and any real fan would want to buy it anyway.
It's not like Muv-Luv being already TL'd stopped people from buying that. Umineko seems to have done decently, too, despite being TL'd for years. You could also bet your ass that if Fate ever gets TL'd it'll sell gangbusters.

I mean yeah, it sucks for those who have been waiting, but I doubt there's really any negatives to releasing Sengoku before Quest.
>>
There's no reason to assume a new release of Rance 7 will anger people, a lot of games were released after being fan translated for a while and did well, and if they offer improvements like like they did with 6 I will buy it.

Also, this is the project lead

>The language use in the game is by no means hard, definitely not something like Grisaia no Kajitsu or anything so I'd say anything from N3 or maybe even N4 should be workable with most of the text in this VN
>>
>>16374871
Sengoku has the whole addictive gameplay thing going for it so I imagine it will sell well regardless of whether people are happy or angry about it. There is reason to be optimistic the gameplay would attract people who don't even care about the Rance games and from those new people it may build a stronger fandom for future releases. Personally I would like them to skip Sengoku if they can't release it very quickly (like late 2017 or early 2018), but it would easier to tolerate if they do a simultaneous announcement with 01 like an earlier anon mentioned. I won't be buying Sengoku either way but I'm sure it will make plenty of money without me.

I'd also like to see an Evenicle announcement no later than 2018 while the game is still relatively new. That could be slightly related to Rance because I don't know how many titles from a single partner they would translate at the same time.
>>
>>16374910

>>16374953
Speaking for myself, I'm probably buying 3 copies of Sengoku Rance like I did with Rance Vl. I'm also hoping that they minimize the gap between it and the next Rance game they release (be it 01 or Quest), but they are likely to do AS games other than Rance, and I don't see them releasing more than 2 Alicesoft games a year (even that is a stretch).

They technically released 3 this year, but 5D was a freebie.

Evenicle would be great, but I'd be happy with Galzoo Island, Pastel Chime, Blade Briders, Escalayer, or even Oyako Rankan. Daiakuji would be cool too, but it's probably more trouble than it's worth being on an old engine and all.
>>
>>16375473
I'd be insanely happy with Evenicle or especially Daiakuji. Not really interested in most anything else from Alicesoft's catalog, other than Rance.

It only needs 20k more, so it's almost guaranteed to reach the base goal. Not too sure about the stretch goals though
>>
>>16375897
200k is the PS Vita stretch goal.

Daiakuji plot is pretty much about sending femnazis back to the kitchen.
>>
>supipara nowhere near top 10 either MG or Steam sales
How long MG going to pretend people want more of this shit until they cancel fundraising project?
>>
>>16376090
They might as well release the second chapter first (since it exists already) and then forget about that project.

Is that an insanely puffy vulva or a cock and balls?
>>
>>16376542
That's not very puffy as far as puffy vulvas go, lad.
>>
>>16376589
In other words, it's a dick.

White feminazis though, so it cancels out in offensiveness. It's anti-cultural imperialism, and SJW's hate that. I think.

Daiakuji will most likely sell well and break more than even based on premise and the existence of the OVA, but other Alicesoft titles will do better for a similar amount of work on MG's side because they are newer. If MG does ever want to add a budget SRPG gameplay title to their catalog though, Daiakuji would be perfect.

$183,609.90 as of 1/4/2017
It didn't sell well. They'll most likely keep it around until chapter 2 is released and say that sales of 1 & 2 didn't meet the goal needed for chapters 3+.

I rarely go /vg/ but looks like I found something:

What the fuck, that general is awful
>>
>>16378865
I know, and it always is.

But sometimes, I find things there, despite the godawful things happening out there.

I know it looks like I'm defending but gotta slog through some shit if you want something, in my case that is.

I bought it.

And there are 2 other people than me on this board who bought it.

So that's pretty good.
