Hey guys, thought this would be the best place to ask. It's on Japanese mytholgoy.
I remember their being a story about a mountain higher than Mt Fuji, but some god or another got angry and smashed it to rubble.
I know that's a shitty summary, but I cant remember the name of the legend for the life of me.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's actually part of the backstory for Mokou.

Excuse me while I kill myself.
Thanks for correcting me, anon.

You're not wrong. Mokou's story is based on an actual mythological story; ZUN just adapted it for Touhou the way he did all sorts of other mythologies.

Right, this. I didn't mean to imply that the story was originally Touhou. It's just the closest onhand reference for it I have that contains the name.
Thanks for the help, anyway.

I probably heard the actual legend mentioned in touhou lore discussion surrounding Mokou.
Speaking of youkai fucking up mountains, do you know the story of Daidarabocchi, OP?

This one's also been in Touhou.
