How good is the Welcome to the NHK Novel? I liked the anime and

The NHK book is better than both the manga and anime in my opinion. Both cut out parts that I feel add to the story or throw in weird things that don't really make sense/aren't realistic, such as the suicide cult. The book is fairly straightforward and realistic and you get more of a sense of Satou's internal narrative, making him a more sympathetic/realistic character overall.

Not sure if this is /jp/ but holy fuck I love that book.

Never seen the anime but I enjoyed the book quite a bit when I read it translated years ago. I'd say it's worth a read if you liked the anime.
