Any specific tips for keeping a body in the best shape for the hobby?
I get that most people find fat people in costumes pretty unappealing, but I've seen some really lean kigs with more obvious bicep or leg muscles that give 'em a beefier look. On the other hand, there've also been a couple kigs who are so skinny you can visibly see their ribs, so that comes across as taking it too far in the other direction.

I get that padding, if done right, can fix a lot of the issues I've mentioned, but what would be a good balance of body fat and muscle, or lack thereof to look most convincing in costume?

What do people here think about Muni-Muni's masks? From a quick Google Translate looksee, it seems like their masks are vinyl instead of the usual fiberglas, which is a point against them, but they look very well-designed and very attractive, especially compared to a lot of the budget masks made by Western makers. Are they worthwhile as entry-level masks? Is it half-assing it if I get one?

The "Kanakig Studios" you see on Facebook and elsewhere isn't the original maskmaker/creator as he "retired" after most of his work was destroyed during one storm that flooded his studio.

From what I recall, the "owners" are the two main models who used to be the ones who modeled Kanakig's masks and costumes. They have about as much talent as a Kardashian, and have the same diva attitude to boot.

I mean, have you *seen* the masks they have on sale? Wyu's shoddy work looks better than their crap.

So yeah, instead of closing down, they ride on the prestige of the original mask maker and shoot down all naysayers. It's downright sad how they f-up the legacy of one of the best makers who caters to westerners by pasting his name over their crap.
