I think the difference is that non-idol celebrities generally have some kind of talent. A lot of idols don't have any talent other than "tries hard" or, if they're lucky "is pretty". The ones that are genuinely talented usually survive scandals. Naanya and Miki are not talented, so the weight of this could really go either way.

I honestly don't give a shit if they date or not, but they have to be monumentally stupid to not have seen so many scandals and think they'd get away with it unscathed. This is pretty tame as far as scandals go, but neither of them are in a very great position. Even if management largely ignores this, they won't be doing these two any favors any time soon. The only upside for them is that this is the end of summer so they have a good 8 months to rebuild their image before the next SSK. If either or both drop significantly, then it's basically the end of their career.
