touhou doujins are generally shit, because other people's perceptions of the characters don't match your own, at least if you actually play the games.

I have a similar noob question. Can I get into Touhou without playing games that will only give me early arthritis? I like the concept of Gensokyo as a place of forgotten and lost things.
