The common route and heroines are good especially Kano, Nanao and Suu. The routes on the other hand are very hit and miss. Adelheid's and Kohane's routes are sleep inducing (Masataka fully maintains his character in Adelheid's route), Nanao's route stops being interesting the moment it stops being relevant to the protagonist's past but Nanao and Masataka are a great pair, Suu's route comes off as half finished due to the ending and Kano's route is excellent but probably not worth picking up the game for. However the interaction between the MC and the heroines is noteworthy despite how boring some of the routes are.

You can just read the first one and leave it at that if you want. As far as I know, the story (and/or endings) aren't the biggest strength anyway. Comedy is.

People generally say the third is the best, but I've only read the first, so I can't comment on that. But if all you want is get to three fast, you can probably skip everything but Reika related stuff, as she seems to be the only heroine that actually remains a heroine. The second entry is also just a fandisc so it should be completely skipable. I've heard there is past related stuff, but I doubt it's important enough to bother with it.
That said, you'd be missing out on some (in my opinion) rather good comedy.


tl;dr: Even reading 100% isn't THAT bad. (4.5mb.. ) But chances are you want that, and you really don't have to. Focus on Reika and whatever else you enjoy.

I rarely read "sequels" and such directly afterwards. I basically just finished the first one a good week ago. I do plan on continuing though. I actually thought I'd jump directly into the fd, but the lack of an actual Reika route (which is really weird..) and the fact that it was release week with new releases coming made me not do that.


And yes, there's an all-in-one version. The nice thing is that it updates the art to 720p. Obviously that cuts stuff off from the CG and such, but I didn't feel like that was a problem from the perspective of someone who didn't play the originals. The extra menu also collects all the endings, so it does really feel like "one" game of sorts. (pic related)
That said, one thing weird were the voices. The mixing was all over the place. One character was way too loud, except in rare cases. The other were mostly "normal" except in rare cases where it got super loud. It felt like they re-recorded some lines or something.. with a very different sound-level. Dunno if this is something in the original as well. Nor if it remains a thing after the first game. Do have the newest version too.

What are all the Nakayoshi set append patches in the Maitestu+Monobeno Happy End torrent? Are they extra H scenes or something else? I don't really want to download 15gb.

You just gotta run around and build affection and flag events.
For Kakyuusei at least where a heroine can appear is somewhat randomized but they have places they'll usually appear at a given time.
If you figure out where that is you can sort of game the system a bit and exploit to gain affection for that heroine pretty quickly by repeatedly going there back to back in the time window they're most likely to appear.
Otherwise events you just need to pay attention or hope to stumble on to them.

Yes, you have to play every route. I actually found Hana's otherwise lackluster route one of my favorites due to the last scene, though it's very divisive and some people heavily dislike it.
Nono's is also great. Both Nono and Hana's routes also have more main plot relevant stuff compared to Hinae and Uki's, especially Hana's route despite its general silliness introduces some important stuff used later on.

Tsuriotsu Luna finished. I still think it kinda lacks a hook and the middle part goes on FOREVER, but I think it was ultimately quite fine. Not much more though. I do feel they went a bit too far with Ion, doubly so once everything was revealed. Also I'm not sure what to think of them just not bothering to finishing up the "Luna's family" plot string which was basically one of the biggest problem makers of the freakin' game.
That said, Luna was mostly great, some of the jokes are great as well.. and I gotta say those ero scenes were quite some silly shit. Or rather the way they.. start? I laughed quite a bit. The option for the second scene was also something I didn't expect. That was quite S&M tier in some way. His butt got plugged.

Tried to read the afterstory afterwards, but a rather silly (and quite funny) scene basically said "stop, do it after reading the fandisc". That was.. something. Luna even tells you how to get the bad-ending which leads to it. Still, I did read the april fools part. At times funny, but it just overstayed its welcome, just like the maingame in some way. (it's like over an hour of voice-acting) Totally canon though. Totally.

Surprised to see so much positivity for Nora Neko. Was pretty much the poster child of bad moege for me: Boring plot and excessively wordy about everything. The whole game goes nowhere.
