I think she perhaps did it herself without knowing it. In other words it was something that was innate or that she acquired and awoke to being while on the volcano and being influenced by her desire for the elixir...if not being directly influenced or given power by Sakuyahime herself

Otherwise, after that, she had a lot of years to learn how to use magic.
