I loved Katawa Shoujo. Such great music.

Umineko is highly recommended. The start is really slow, but it's an incredible and deep story with fantastic characters and really interesting insight into the mystery genre. You just need to sit through a lot of exposition in the first part to really understand what's going on.
The original art isn't the best but the ps3 patch has voice acting and professional art.

I wasn't a fan of Yume Miru Kusuri. The sex scenes were great, but the overall story was lacking. I didn't feel any emotion connection to the characters and the writing wasn't very good. But to each their own.

Kara no Shoujo 2 is damn good, I personally liked it alot more than the first, though there are some that think the first one is better. Either way its a must read.

You can skip Cartagra if you want, but it does help you understand more of the plot in KnS2. Its not that good, but its alright.

Then just read KnS3 whenever the hell it comes out.

You should start with the first one, keep in mind it isn't quite the kind of thing that you are looking for but it looks like you are quite new to visual novels and I think you should read it at the very least to see that they aren't all about romancing the girl you like the most, not that there's anything wrong with that.
In any case, I think you will "get lost" in it but not in quite the same way as you did with Katawa Shoujo, save often!
I would also reccomend that you don't go any of the two VN generals yet since people might post spoilers of well known VNs that you may have not played yet.

I was about to ask about this, after looking at it a bit online, it seems like more of a murder mystery type of thing. Not saying I don't like murder mysteries, but not sure if it's what I'm looking for at the moment.

I also understand not all VNs are about romancing girls, I've played more than I've listed, but I only listed the ones I've played that are similar to KS.

I guess I might be looking for a more slice of life VN right now. But if I'm being honest with myself, I really just looking for something that will make me cry, for reasons.

As a fellow emotional masochist, I understand wanting a vn to make you cry. While half of Kara no Shoujo is murder mystery, the other half is pretty slice of life. I really like the atmosphere of it all. Its like holding a warm cup of tea while sitting in front of a fireplace in the dead of winter kind of atmosphere. Good feels. Kara no Shoujo will make you cry too so there's that.

Pretty sure you can get the true ending after just completing one normal ending. I don't remember having to get all the normal endings.

KS is literally an amalgamation of every mediocre Japanese fiction trope out there. It was created with the intent to mimic a JVN, and that's all it did. Whether or not you enjoy it is up to you, but 'original'? Really?

I'm not saying it's terrible, but it's just as much of a cookie-cutter story as any other JVN, which is not a good thing.
