>triple left hand turning lanes, double right hand turning lanes
>even McDonalds has 3 lane drive throughs

Very impressive infrastructure, imagine how easy it is to get around the city

I don't know where that is, but it seems kind of messy and dangerous,

We just strap roundabouts and over/underpasses everywhere and call it a day.

Pic related.
>>
>>79526455
We have those too
I prefer roundabouts and over/underpasses
>>
>imagine how easy it is to get around the city
Don't even say that shit sarcastically, you'll only encourage them
>>
>>79528520
>>79526455
the problem is too many people driving cars.

just build dense, walkable cities, encourage people to ride bikes, and expand and improve public transit.
>>
>>79528520
>We just strap roundabouts and over/underpasses everywhere and call it a day.

When my city first started putting in roundabouts in congested areas people started avoiding them, too fucking stupid to grasp the concept.
>>
>>79528625
How braindead do you have to be to not be able to use a roundabout
>>
>>79528690

Seems when the drivers here encounter one for the first time, they have no idea what to do.

End result was the fastest travel path becoming empty as everyone else goes the longer way around. Saves me time so I don't give a fuck.
>>
>>79528579
I completely agree. I hate the idea of requiring a car for mobility and I love walkable European and Asian cities.

But alas, we took a page from the American way and fucked up our cities beyond repair.
>>
I have a stupid question about murrica/canada.
18 wheels truck is a meme, or they really exist?
Typical big truck in Russa have only 12, more rarely 16 wheels.

Yes, 18 wheelers are very common, at least where I live.

They are everywhere, in fact 13 states allow triple trailers
>>
>>79528902
We also have lots of those over here. I would be very surprised if Russia didn't.

>>79529202
That seems dangerous desu.
>>
>>79528902
I see.
Russians (and europe, i presume) use three trailer axis with single wheels, where your pic have two axis with double wheels.
And mostly, there is two axis on truck itself, not three.
>>
>>79526455
That image is giving me GTA 2 flashbacks.
>>
>>79529253
Nah. In most of the country you can only carry doubles
>>
>>79529046
Yeah, I know.
>>
>>79529253
Russian trucks have slightly different wheel layout (six wheels on trailer and six or ten on truck itself).
>>

That's how you end up with shitholes like Washington DC

>entire public transit system is staffed by lazy union fuckers (overwhelmingly blacks coincidentally)
>almost nobody files real safety reports
>safety/maintenance reports that are real are ignored
>a Somalian immigrant engineer filed a false report and got an old woman killed
>HE STILL FUCKING WORKS FOR THE METRO

Utter trash. Give me urban sprawl and lots of driving over overcrowded densely populated shitholes any day of the week.
>>
>>79529483
Nice.
>>
>>79529474
Most fucking thing on russian roads - is muslims on old soviet era trucks, overloaded with watermelons (often they have a second trailer, despite the ancient engine cannot pull even single one).
They cannot into speeds more than ~35-40mph.
>>
>>79529579
Sounds awful.

This guy could pull it easily he just didn't bother checking his tires before he left
>>
>>79528579
>just build dense, walkable cities
see, this makes sense. Until gentrification kicks in and you can't actually afford to live in the city which sends you to go live in the nearest and affordable suburb. Then you either have to sit in a traffic jam for 2 hours everyday to get to work or take a jam packed train. I'd rather city planners make fatty infrastructure.

t. province only has 2 highways

>dense, walkable cities
Living in such city (St. Pete).
City center at 8-12AM and 5-9PM is a one big traffic jam.
Personally me riding a subway, because driving a car when you working 10:00-18:00 is really pain in the ass.
>>
>>79529856
They were traffic jams even before the car. Id say they were worse back then because you had people, horses with carriages and trolleys all in the same spaces
>>
>>79529967
We still have horses with carriages as a touristic/entertainment shit. Not much, but they exist.
And there is fucking lot of people in "historic center".
On my picture, subway is almost empty for 7PM, because in friday evening and weekend most people going to walk, visit shopping centers etc.
>>
>>79530040
Yeah usually couples or families with small children ride those carriages here
>>
>>79529856
Communists in planning of streets did not expect that cars will grow 5 times. The roads are not designed for such a tight traffic.

>Americans are literally this stupid

meanwhile in the real world i take 10 minutes on public transport to get to work and if i need to travel to another city it's a max of like $6 on a train to go 300 miles
>>
>>79531068
where the fuck is it $6 to go 300 miles
>>
>>79528579
Have you even been to Manhattan?
You can't build walkable cities. It's logically impossible.
At some point, some restaurant, some hotel, some literally fucking anything is going to need a truck to deliver a shitload of packages to their doorstep.
When that truck comes in, your shitty 2 lane arrangement is going to be immediately jammed.

You cannot have businesses without delivery trucks. Not being able to deliver in bulk is NOT an option for a city.

After driving in America my whole life I too romanticized being able to take a train and cycling/walking everywhere.

Except I missed having A/C, having a roof over my head when it rains, having a steel barrier protecting me, listening to loud music/easily changing songs. Not being crammed into a crowded train during rush hour.

I miss my car.
