I can't speak for all of Asia but I know for a fact that in China they are treated as a curiousity. Chinese people have this weird white fetish so when they see mixed children the kids are automatically elevated in terms of attention. The down side is the kids are also high targets for the sex trade or general kidnapping. I got the impression that Japanese frown on mixed white/Japanese kids but I could be wrong.
