The problem is the crippling damage to their economy that was dealt by the rest of the western worlds decision to gang together and brute force communist countries out of existance. Either through military action or through starving them out. Why do people care so much about their political ideologies?

Noone on a real physical government is going to apply strict political doctrines as-is. Politics is made by people with all its ambiguity and fights for power.

These systems are just a way to convince people and hide one's actions in front of their peers.

People fought each other? Of course they would, everyone wants to "win" and be the best country, and it should be expected. if a country falls, it's because it didn't defend itself or wasn't as good as another one, or one of them had more support, or just downright luck.

Saying that a country only failed because of "opposition" is pretty meaningless.

What little value we produce gets badly allocated by corrupt polticians, Hungary is building one stadion after an other which have no uses what so ever, while education and healthcare is suffering.
I don't know if you know about it but it's not like we wanted communism, there was even a revolution in 1956 against the communist regime, the U.S encouraged the Hungarians to rise up and we'll get help from you, but then you were like "Lol, nope we have something to care of at the Suezcanal so we won't help you."
Hundreds of thousands of people died.
If the revolution had succeed back then we would be Western-Europe by now.
