I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Italians, is in fact, Venetians and Italians, or as I've recently taken to calling it, masterrace and shitalians. Italians are not an ethnic group unto itself, but merely a linguistic group made useful by based Venetians, a vital group thanks to which Europe exists.
Many /int/ users mistake Venetians for Italians every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the Venetian group is often called "Italians", and many of /int/olerants are not aware that it is basically the Venetians, a Central European masterrace.
There really are Italians, but Venetians are no part of it. Venetians are different, much more civilized and stuff. This is essential for you to realize. I've read some interesting facts on them in wiki, they are actually quite interesting being Southern American countries inhabited by mix of peoples literally from all over the world (India, Nepal, Java, creoles, Africans who escaped slavery) and have an extremely meme army (Gayana military consists of 2 infantry batallions, 5 boats, 2 airplanes and 1 helicopter). Suriname is totally irrelevant, yes. Some vague Dutch connection. I was once working a warehouse job and I got an order to ship one pallet to Suriname. This pleased my interest in obscure geography, and so I put the pallet together very nicely and drew an outline of hte country with a smiley face on it. I hope they liked it.

In the American Horror movie Silence of the Lambs, the killer is described as having his moths "imported from Suriname". This is the only time I've ever heard of Suriname being referred to anywhere in popular culture.

French Guiana is again irrelevant, but a full part of France (not a "territory" or dependency) - exactly as Alaska is a full part of USA since you sold it to us. :^)
