Don't mind, started with smaller shit like selling stolen bikes and weed. Got into heavier dealing, robbery and fraud. Got my self hooked on pretty much everything you can inhale, swallow or sniff and at some point a neighbor had enough of my shit. All that plus the stolen goods, fraudulent checks and papers plus a rifle and enough pills to kill of a small city... Well I got fucked in court.

Having watched plenty documentaries about german prison, I came to the conclusion that prison's would have been neet's paradise if internet had been available
If that changes, I will probably do anything to get into prison, when I wont find a job or fuck up education

It's the opposite here, you treat the guards nice and they do the same to you. So most inmates were nice to the guards and had conversations pretty much daily.
Used to talk to one of the female guards when I was cooking my dinner every day, she thought me how to do omelets and other dishes.

They put 10 people into cells meant for 4 people because there has been a massive increase of convictions in the past 10 years. However budget is tight and no politician dares to suggest using peoples tax money for criminal scum, so I guess we'll find out how many people you can actually put into one cell soon.

We have different tiers that have less to do with security and more to do with luxury and comfort. Litla-Hraun is the worst and places like Kvíabryggja are more cozy, in the cozy prisons you'll get what is basically a room and a computer, get to do stuff in the day and go out for “vacations“ from prison, it's basically like a dorm, people such as thieves and so on go there, in the worse ones you just get a cement cell a toilet and a mattress, no windows, it's like a typical American prison, murderers and rapists go there.

One of the reasons we have such a high incarceration rate is because prisons are a business here. Prisoners are used as a source of free labor. Rehabilitation is an afterthought in our prisons; the first thought is "how can we use these prisoners to make money."

what you are going to get depends.
if you robbed a guy you get a year or so in a comfy cell in some prison in upper egypt with around 3-4 inmates.
but if you do some serious stuff,not only the time will worsen but also the conditions.
instead of a comfy cell in upper egypt,you get sent to a lonely prison right in the middle of sinai/western desert/eastern desert.there you will be sitting in 5x5 room,with around 50 other inmates and no beds.along with that comes of course strong rivalries (50 murderers or so in a tiny cell what did you expect) and food only once a day.the guards come down and beat you up on a whim ,and if you resist,theres a very good chance that a guard with some good connections might lengthen your sentence a bit.

In Poland you can make anyone go to the mental hospital. Just call the police and tell them that this person wants to commit suicide. This is what my friend's ex did, it was his 'revenge'. She was tied up, they forced her into an ambulance, tied her to bed, they did toxicology and it was clean. She spent a night in the hospital (tied up!), the next morning they allowed her to leave. She had like 30 km to her home, no money, no clean clothes, only cellphone. No apologies, nothing.

Having the opportunity to actually improve as a human being is also important, without that prison is pointless unless you throw away the key and said inmate never enters society again.
The Nordic countries have some of the lowest re-incarceration rates in the world. People actually exit prison and find jobs etc.
If my time as an inmate was nothing but violence and despair I would most likely have lost my shit completely. Once out again? Well we all know how that would have gone. But instead I now have a job and is crime/drug free
