It's super duper expensive. A lot of french tourists lnly seek the sun, beach, party and cocktails in beautiful locations for holidays, and there's dirt cheap locations to do that lile greece or spain, plus you can sleep in luxurious hotels for lile 40€ the night. Only weebs and people who care about japanese culutre will have the willpower to save for a trip to japan.

We've actually got a lot of weebs in France. That means more people who are interested in Japanese culture than your average country, but the general populace is largely indifferent to Japan because Japanese people don't occupy a very important place in most fields the average French is interested in, like sports or international cinema.
