Why do Americans boast so much about their military might?, They lost a war to some rice growers in the 70's and the only reason they were able to get independence was because of France and Spain and they even claim they won WWII

>and they even claim they won WWII
We did Japan surrendered because of us.

But Germany didn't.
actually gooks win AFTER americans retreat, like, there was some treaties between South Vietnam and North Vietnam, commies broke them and captured Saigon.
worst day in my life

Why do Russians boast so much about their military might?, They lost a war to some goat herders in the 80's and the only reason they were able to get independence was because of a German commie came in and toppled their government and they even claim they won WWII
Why do Colombians boast so much about their military might?, They lost a war to some drug dealers and peasants in the 20th century and the only reason they were able to get independence was because of Venezuela and Argentina and they even claim they won Colombian Conflict

>North Vietnam agrees to end the War
>A peace treaty is signed.
>US declares victory and then goes home
>North Vietnam invades South Vietnam again
>South Vietnam no longer exists
>US does not achieve our original war aims (protect South Vietnam)
>w-we won t-the v-vietnam war guys!
>you guys, seriously w-we won.
>k-k-k K/D! just look at the k-kill / death ratio, w-we totally won.
we need to admit that we lost in Vietnam, but not obsess over it. it's really delusional.

>losing

16 years and counting, how many more until you admit defeat? China is already carving up the country with the blessings of the taliban and interim government.

Because the US has in very few occassion lost actual military battles or campaigns.
You know how people say "you won the battle but not the war"
Well, that is the US. We win every single battle but end up """""""""""""""losing"""""""""""""" the war.
Losing can be taken in many different ways.
Vietnam was most definetly a defeat, that is undisputable. But we won every single battle, including the tet offensive.
Korea was a victory in the sense of liberating and securing the independence of the South, which was the whole point of going to Korea, but we failed to unify the peninsula, even though it was never one of the main objectives. Some people consider it then a draw or inconclusive result.
First gulf war, was a decisive victory for the US.
The same for the military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.
some consider Iraq and Afghanistan failures, not because we lost battles, but because we failed in setting up prosperous democratic systems, no matter how unrealistic those standards are.
Afghanistan is doing magnitudes better than it ever did during the taliban rule.
Iraq is doing better democratically, but worse in economic and security terms.
These things take time. I would not say Iraq and Afghanistan are lost causes. But people had unrealistic expectations about the occupation.
The US nonetheless won every single engagement and battle in all of those wars.

In summary, if a war requires us to break shit and destroy a certain nation. The US is more than capable to do this. Any country in the world would cease to break against the US.
Now, if a war require some retarded objective like making a backward stone age country into a modern beacon of democracy, then you got a much bigger problem. That simply can't be achieved with military might.

>Why do Americans boast so much about their military might?
They do not have much else to boast about beside BBQ, military and having taught their negroes how to chase an egg.
