>has a GDP per capita less than that of Tennessee
?

American GDP is all screwy because of fiinance capitalism.
>>
>>79256642
I mean, you could even compare incomes. Germany's median income is 31,925 which would be in contention for the poorest state in the Union if they were American.
>>
>>79256773
Germans have a lot more social benefits though, you have to factor that in as well.
>>
>>79256773
You need to compare purchasing power. The Germans have gone out of their way to keep their wages low so they're able to compete as an industrial economy, rather than a service economy.

True, but I'm not down with the socialism crap.
Also that's really hard to quantify.
>>79256911
Ok, did some more research, it still doesn't look too good with PPP. I mean, Missouri is considered really poor here. At least Norway is rich. (Thanks to oil right?)

no problem
>>
>>79257136
bruh, I already posted your median income. (ours is 51939 btw)
>>
I´m planning a year of working in the states when I did my engineering bachelor. Can you recommend any prefered states?
>>
>>79257184
gross per capita income in USD PPP
>USA 15,480
>Germany 14,098

The difference is small. Median household income can't really be compared without comparing the sizes of the average household and I'd say the average American household contains more people than the average German household.
>>
>>79257340
You mean when you finish your BS in Engineering you want to work in the states? Honestly just apply for the best engineering companies or the ones that interest you and then look at your options. I'm Californian and love California, but I also think Washington is a cool state, among a few others.

The median income of my City is almost 100k. My dad moved here to America in the 70s to become and engineer and it worked out really really well for him.
>>79257449

Interesting, I thought this would skew the balance more in our favor considering all the taxes you guys have.

It's considered an economic powerhouse due to it's size.

Compared to other Germanic countries they aren't anything special.
>>
>>79257946
>Germany
>ever being the powerhouse of anything other than bad comebacks
>>
I don't know why you'd single out Germany in particular for this topic. Germany's economy is legitimately one of the best in the world, and they have nothing to be ashamed of there.

Here's who you should be making fun of -- Countries with smaller GDP's than California:
>India
>France
>Brazil
>Italy

Countries with smaller GDP's than Texas:
>Canada
>Russia
>Turkey
>Mexico
>Indonesia
>>
>>79257990
Any ideas how to reduce it's size?
>>
>>79258310
Is it actually the majority of Poles that are butthurt about Germany despite everything you've got from us since 1945 or is it just the autists on 4chan?
>>
>>79257633
Yup thats my plan. I just want to work a few months - maybe a year - and will do my Master in germany then. The main purpose of coming in the USA is learning english fluently and discover which options life is offering because germany will be a fucking ruin one day and I won't spend 50 of my income for lazy muslim cunts
>>
>>79257089
>True, but I'm not down with the socialism crap.
never seen a greater example of "I don't like that, so it's not an argument!"
>>
>>79258255
Oh yeah, Germany has an incredibly robust economy compared to its European neighbors but that's the exact point I'm mulling over here. This thread is meant to be more derogatory to Europe, and is meant to question why it is that their best economy would be considered lackluster this side of the Atlantic.
>>79258662
Lmao stay away from my well off Muslim community then.

But just so you know, a lot of companies, will pay for your Master's education while you work for them and then promote you when you're done. That's something you should definitely look into. And you can always bounce at the end of your visa if you don't like the American lifestyle.

That meme applies if the burger wasn't insured, however if he was he'd be getting a really good care.
>>
>>79259427
universal healtcare is not a thing there afaik
and insurance services is pretty bad compared to "yuropoor's" ones
>>
>>79259492
My private insurance is exponentially better than your communist poverty care, I can assure you.
>>79259427
And I do indeed have insurance, excellent insurance.
>>
>>79259492
I think some states started to enact universal healthcare, and I just checked it is the case in Vermont.

>>79259492
>insurance services is pretty bad
There might be some bad cases more than europe due to the service being private, but I still think if it covers the patient it covers them good.
>>
>>79259236
US healthcare is needlessly stressful and convoluted, but anybody who goes bankrupt from needing medical treatment is an idiot who doesn't deserve much sympathy.

You could get health insurance through pretty much any workplace. If you choose not to, that's your fault.
>>
>>79259749
>but I still think if it covers the patient it covers them good
You are correct. My insurance I know for a fact to be far better that Leafistan and and the Britburka's NHS.

This is the part I don't get with American insurance. If it is a private insurance then why does it have to be through employer? Why can't you just shop for the policy that fits you and your needs and pay its premiums without depending on your employer?
>>
>>79259787
>poor people who cant affort a health insurence doesn't deserve much sympathy
the eternal american capitalist strikes again
>>
>>79259787
Even if you are too lazy for a job then you can just get medicaid. Seriously anyone who doesn't have insurance legit deserves to die and it's a shame it's illegal for hospitals to deny care because that's the only thing that would convince these lazy faggots to get off their ass.
>>
>>79259654
doesnt matter, when half of your country gets bankrupt because of barely medium sized treatmens
>>
>>79259940
>If it is a private insurance then why does it have to be through employer?
It doesn't have to be, it's just an option and it usually ends up being much cheaper and better because the company pays the vast majority of the premiums as a way to attract good workers.
> Why can't you just shop for the policy that fits you and your needs and pay its premiums without depending on your employer?
You can. Totally legal and a lot of people choose to do that.
>>
>>79260010

Which would probably be cause for concern if that wasn't just some hyperbolic bullshit you just made up.

>>

never heard of such things from europe, so you should be concerned
>>
>>79260048
Companies compete with each other to give good healthcare and benefit plans. Like if you own one of two businesses in the same town, that are in the same market, all the good workers are going to go work for the guy with the sick benefit package and you're going to be stuck paying the mouth breathing retards.

Studies have been done in the US that suggest benefit packages are more important for attracting top tier talent than even salary.

Why would I be concerned when I have better healthcare than you?

Or are you suggesting I'm supposed to be concerned for some lazy nig nog too lazy to get a job or fill out a medicaid form?
>>
>>79260246
>Why would I be concerned when I have better healthcare than you?
lol whatever
>>
>>79260182
Let's say a self employed person wanted to buy his own insurance, how much does the monthly premium cost on average?
>>
>>79260358
I couldn't say, it depends on like a billion different things and then there are government subsidies, tax deductions etc that you have to consider on top of it. And these variables are all different for every state.

I can tell you how much my top tier healthcare costs me though work (24 dollars a month) but that's about it.
>>
>>79257089
>(Thanks to oil right?)
It's more complicated than that, our economic 'revolution' came in the 1920s-30s.

If we didn't have oil we'd be around the same as Denmark and Sweden, but the oil does lift that little bit extra.
