no, i was talking that japanese always follow the master. ikebana was never creative but an exercise in following the master, as an example
so if one japanese makes american cartoons and then does local cartoons, all the other japanese do the same style
and everytime there's innovation it becomes a vogue. it's not really bad unless you hate ranobe faces which are popular nowadays (thanks to kyoto animation)
so in the 70s and 80s it was based off american DESIGNERS, what they draw not how they look like
