Ironically, both Alberto AND Barbosa are Germanic names, actually.

"Rosa" means pink now, but maybe. Rojo is still red in Spanish and the name is old enough for it to have originally been from Spain.
We use vermelho or encarnado (meat-colour) for actual red and I think we did for a long while, so I don't think Barbosa has any Portuguese origin, but I could be wrong.
