American suburbs seem to vary massively from region to region, while Australian suburbs look literally exactly the same on opposite sides of the country. We have far fewer two-storey houses and we don't have many of those "traditional" looking homes that seem to be common in America. It's also extremely rare here to see those nice tree-lined streets that you always see in American movies. And maybe I'm wrong but in my opinion we tend to put less effort into our properties than Americans.

american suburbs vary greatly from area to area. the ones posted here frequently in meme threads are absolutely the worst. but there are nicer and older ones and they look quite different.

most houses are wide and 1 floor here
houses are never uniform, suburbs don't get built with the same style or designs in a neat way. They're generally just slowly added to other suburbs and the houses are largely personalised. It means they are more sprawled, maze-like and organic.

why don't you build two-story house?
Australian suburbs are more white than american suburbs.
Also Australian houses in the suburbs are bigger than american suburban houses because theres so much land.
