I remember coming across a study that pointed to populations living in medium latitudes being the most sexually dimorphic when it came to (untanned) skin color, maybe you aren't wrong but the greater tanning of men compared to women in the middle east probably contributes to that view too

Just anecdotally this makes a lot of sense. If you go to Africa women and men aren't that sexually dimorphic, and there's got to be a reason whites and Asians have the most convincing femboys. Whereas the average woman and man from the region in OP are really really different.

keep in mind that I meant Middle Easterners more so than Europeans (especially Northern ones). their data generally didn't support greater skin color dimorphism with increased distance from the equator. but it's been a while so I'd have to recheck it to be sure about the specifics

and honestly, there have been a lot of hypotheses about skin color selection whose truth we barely really know. even the Vitamin D theory has been debated a lot

I think that was a problem with some other populations from more northern parts too, can't remember which exact ones (I wanna say steppe but not sure right now). might have something to do with the skull or femurs being less sexually dimorphic

Interesting how the oldest remains from amerindians show a really high sexual dimorphism. with big square jawed males and really petite women. Looking different than the current pure ones, even if dna test confirm they're the same.

I haven't followed what you're talking about but from what I've seen, Amerindians generally show basically complete continuity with the latest waves from Siberia only affecting the north.

In European populations men are lighter than women, but women have lighter hair and eyes.
It happens in my family, I'm pale white asmy father, but both my sister and mother have a tint of tan even in their covered area

the other study I had in mind found that despite the overall trend being lighter women and darker men, some populations especially in Europe followed the opposite trend. but they also discussed potential cultural factors (like tanning the whole body more) affecting the female populations more, at least in Europe

Women have naturally less melanin than men, it has nothing to do with testosterone.

Idk I've always just noticed a genetic difference. Just from your picture, the blonde girl has somewhat tan skin, but the other girls not really. They guy is more tan and those boys in the back are definitely brown
