When they will notice the fascinating system in which a government collect money and distribute them to peasants through fine-mesh filter owned by riches, and pretend GDP to be 3rd or 4th in the world ?

Its an interesting one actually. I was taught that welfare was originally created as a part of a push towards nationalism in the early 20th century. So for example "Go and fight in the wars because we look after you and your family" so it became a way to tie someone to the country as part of a social contract. Also its just a fact of life that it decreases crime and helps with the rule of law and social cohesion. Someone unable to eat will find a way to eat.

What it has become these days is felt as an entitlement, so it is expected of the government and the people who pay tax will support you. In some cases this is valid, for example someone who had an accident and cannot work probably doesn't deserve to starve. However when you have familys who for generation have not worked and survive off welfare it becomes a little unclear what exactly is being done there. In theory its meant to be a safety net for when you fall or for when you are unable to find work but in a lot of cases it is abused.

Because the weak, like the strong, should care for themselves. Where they are unable to do so, charities should step in.

The US government should not provide any kind of welfare. If individual states want to do it, then fine, but I don't want to pay for Paco's "disability" (pronounced dee-saw-BEE-la-tee, with that weird spic of pronouncing their L sounds that results from the back of their tongues sitting too broadly) for the splinter he got from his 2 days as a laborer.

The reality is that there used to be no welfare. In these cases it used to be the Parish that would look after their members who were unable to look after themselves. From this Charities started to be created. They would look after those who they could.

Its complicated. Taxing middle-class is easier since they don't have all the utilities that big buiseness companies have. Taxing buisiness in general is more dangerous since it could possibly lead to economic stagnation/decline. In some cases buiseness could afford to lobby more favorable taxation system/laws. Having lax buisness taxation system may be profitable since it may encourage companies from other countries to move here ( or at least register ) and pay their smaller taxes here.

If you tax a large corporation they just move away.
If you tax a rich person he just moves away.
If you tax a poor person you get nothing.

The middle class isn't financially independent, so they can't go anywhere. So you can tax them all you want.
Self-employed people are also stuck to a certain region. So you can also tax them.
