You need to trim with scissors or hair clippers
What ever you do, do not shave because it will be EXTREMELY uncomfortable

I tried to shave my pubic hair several times in the past

every time I got such an extreme prickly itch that I couldn't function at all for a week at least.

I would rather accept the disgustingness of my nether regions than to ever go through that pain again.

Yeah, I did it once when I was 16 and the same thing happened. I just trim it now.

I shave every once in awhile but it's not that bad once you get used to it / better at shaving.

I'll usually get hair implantations down south for comfy warmth.
