Why do Americans have the urge to move out to university campus

Some schools require you to live on campus for your freshman year. But, yeah, I agree with you. I chose my uni because it's 15 miles from my house.

Because my mother is neurotic and a pain in the ass to live with.

I loved being able to have whoever I wanted over whenever I wanted and not being nagged at all day. I know living at home is better fiscally, but seriously fuck that. My peace of mind is worth it, and I got a decent amount of scholarship anyways.
