What does /int/ think of Operation Ivory Coast?
>Vietnam 1970
>America sends in Navy Seals to North Vietnam to try and to get some POW's
>relatively heavy resistance from guards
>prisoners end up not being there
>no Americans killed but around 10-40 enemy forces killed
>becomes more negative propaganda for Vietnam War
>also results in the formation of JSOC
However things that aren't talked about a lot is that some of the guards are thought to have been possibly Soviet Spetsnaz, this would mean that it was the only time in history where Russian and U.S. special forces fought in open combat.. And we had an overwhelming victory, militarily :^)

The wiki article you posted mentions no soviet military presence, so...
>possibly Soviet Spetznaz
They could also possibly have been LARPers playing dress up - at this point, equally likely
Yeah the article doesn't mention any Spetsnaz in the combat
Probably a rumor made up for propaganda reasons
