For the second time in two months a high-tech, top of the line US destroyer failed to detect a massive commercial ship several times its size, until it slammed into the destroyer killing several sailors.
According to Reuters such events are so rare that historians had to go back 50 years to come up with a comparable one. And the US Navy just had it happen twice, to sister ships, in the same region of the world, within two months of each other.
