Japanese have words only for elites use. It's called "keigo", and it is not dialect or something. For example, normally we use "desu" in last word but elites use "degozaimasu". I think foreigners who learn Japanese are not taught about it because we all know foreigners can't be elite here.

in belgium it's french as well. even though the flemish are a majority, french is the language of the elite here, and when a walloon speaks with a flemish, they do it in french (flemish speak french, but walloons don't speak flemish)
