I don't know if that Anon is right, but if they are it'd probably be down to generations of brainwashing anti-south propaganda. There are families split by the DMZ, so I reckon some N. Koreans would prefer to unite with the south, but China wouldn't like such a staunch western ally/vassal/protectorate of the USA sharing a land border with China like that, however well defended the border.

if he is removed, everything North Korea has at its disposal will be dumped onto South Korea, every shell every bullet and every rocket.
Without kim, there is no south korea.
