I'm just going to ignore this bit of degeneracy and focus on the original question. Folding the pizza (not entirely like a sandwich but just enough so that nothing falls off) is the most efficient way of eating it, and a natural skill for anyone familiar with the large NY style slice. Either you have a lot of toppings that could fall off (normal American style pizza) or, if it's an NY pepperoni slice, a lot of grease that would otherwise drip off that you need to focus towards the tip at the end.

Anyway, folding is nice for takeout pizza so you can eat a whole half at once without having to wonder where to bite.

I think my post was misinterpreted and that my (You)s are underserved. I'm not advocating the drinking of grease, I'm saying that it's messy to eat those floppy NY slices without creating a slope down which all the oil and toppings will slide. Picking up the slice without folding it will result in either toppings or grease or both falling everywhere.
