Terrance Stanley"Terry"Fox, CC, OD

He set out to limp across Canada but died less than halfway.

In 1999 he was rated the greatest Canadian hero. There are 32 roads and bridges bearing his name, 14 schools, 14 institutions, 7 statues, 9 trails, a coast guard ship, in one province he has a statutory holiday, a provincial park, a fucking mountain, and he has been featured on coins and stamps. There is also a Terry Fox hall of fame.
We really love Terry Fox, the boy who couldn't.

He united everyone behind the vision of the people's home. Under him the unions, the capital and the politicians all worked in unison.

Then he was murdered, shot in open street late in the evening as he was walking home with his wife.
